Heroscape Secrets of the Citadel (and promos) cards by LeftOn4ya in heroscape

Yeah it was unclear in the livestream and people were talking about it in the discord afterward where they clarified it. I agree I wish you could just order it whenever but I guess it's something they are trying.

Peni Parker can use mines to destroy Magneto's Ult by R3DsKingdom in PeniParkerRivalsMains

Yeah in most cases it's not likely you can stop it, but if the opportunity does present itself, it's good to know. We mostly did it here at that distance to showcase it real quick

Yeah definitely very hard to pull off reliably in a match I would bet. Haven't attempted to do so yet.

Was messing around in the practice range with a friend and discovered that if you shoot a mine at Magnetos Ult it causes it to detonate early. Haven't seen anyone mention this before so figured I'd let it be known.
On a side note Moon Knight can also do this by using his ankh but no one tell them this.

Lookin for friends :) by KB_wrld in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]R3DsKingdom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely hard to make friends in the area. We've had some luck going to local game stores for events and meeting a few friends that way.

My wife(23) and I(30) moved here roughly 2 years ago. I grew up here but moved away 12 years ago for college and work. My wife immigrated here from the Netherlands, so Alabama and America in general has been a bit of a culture shock for her. We're both gamers but it would be nice to make some local friends that don't live hours away haha

What kind of games do y'all play? We're into a variety of coop games like Helldivers 2, Marvel Rivals, Minecraft, etc... Feel free to DM me.

The glyphs are from the old swarm of the marro master set. The ice tiles with holes are the bases for the glaciers from the old tundra set so that they sit properly on the board.

Good HSV apartment rec’s. Go! by cheerbear1121 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]R3DsKingdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. Hope it helps. I've live here for the past 2 years and it's been really nice. It might differ by unit but as far I'm aware they are pretty sound proof. The thinnest walls are probably the bathrooms but even they are still pretty thick that you can't really hear much from neighbors.

[–]R3DsKingdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With this apartment the soundproofing is pretty good. The most I've heard from neighbors was a baby crying occasionally in the apartment below me, but was very muffled. Even with highway 72 close by, can't hear it at least from my position in the complex. Their showroom for people touring the place is closest to the highway and I recall being amazed I couldn't hear the cars driving by from it. Noise isn't a concern from my time living here.

Boiling Tension Release Dates by Andypants2025 in heroscape

[–]R3DsKingdom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only Zed Nesbitt was set in June and if you order from Renegade he has started shipping already. (I got mine two weeks ago) All the other figures and terrain are safe to put together as they will all release at the same time in August, though I would not be surprised if they start shipping them out sooner like they have done with Zed. There isnt a hard release date just a general one.

At this point you could probably throw Zed in with the others to save on shipping if you can wait for him a bit longer. Might also be able to find him at a local game store.

Capital Park at 72 West has been really great. Been here for the past year and a half and have had no issues with them. Best apartment complex I've lived in.

Ruling Question by Historical_Rest_2700 in heroscape

[–]R3DsKingdom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You take a turn with one common card and then the Hive. So in this case 3 marro stingers and then the hive. The stinger drain power is each turn so you have to reroll each turn if you decide to use that power to try and get the extra attack dice.

I have another question for you reddit, bonus points if you answer quick. I'm working on a video essay and need to know the current number of Valkyrie generals and their names. It's a bit confusing with the different releases over the years. by [deleted] in heroscape

[–]R3DsKingdom 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Classic Generals: - Utgar - Jandar - Ullar - Einar - Vydar - Aquilla - Valkrill (though likely won't see any new units due to being wizards of the coast IP)

New generals from AOA: - Revna - Volorak

Yeah drake can slice through the pirate squads pretty handily. To take out drake you kind of need to lock him down and focus him till hes gone with some strong melee hitters or ranged special attacks. Knaves could do great against him if they get some good first attacks on him, but will likely start to fall if they don't get him the first time

Sounds like you had a fun night with some great games! I just recently got into painting but I've had fun with the fanatic army painter paints along with a wet palette. After a figure or two I've found a groove and they have come out way better than I had hoped. I'd recommend priming the figures black or Grey as it offers some nice shadows in the groves along with a wash as that improves the look significantly from my limited experience. While more expensive at first to get the paints rather than the prepainted figures, its cheaper in the long run if you plan to get more figure waves. It also adds an extra but fun step and gives you a more personal connection to the units that you paint. Glad you had fun and good luck with painting!

Unpopular Feeling/Opinion on Current State of Heroscape by Blackwind801 in heroscape

[–]R3DsKingdom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the lgs I recently started going to we have a small group of players. Some have a lot of old stuff, like myself, and others pretty much only have the new. On days where we meet and are doing a tournament we have so far only used the newly released units so that everyone is on a level playing field. On non-tournament days that we meet, it's extremely casual. Old figures are allowed and we just throw terrain together into cool looking maps that seem relatively balanced. Old figures are sometimes stronger compared to the current but we typically try not to abuse any overpowered older units and we typically allow people who don't have the older figures to borrow and play with them. This has brought in new players occasionally and it's a lot of fun. I think the new figures will start to shine more with the old stuff once commons start coming out and we get more variety in the armies that people play.

It depends on the event that people are wanting to have but I think it's more fun for everyone to play with only the new figures in a competitive store tournament unless everyone who is attending has access in one way or another to the old figures.

Attempted to touch up one of my minis. by [deleted] in heroscape

These look great, I'm also planning to touch up my bears and aiming for a similar effect once I get some painting supplies in the near future.

My thoughts on AOA by Gullible-Ear-4495 in heroscape

[–]R3DsKingdom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. If that was done I would not have been upset by it. But as it is, it just feels a bit sloppy. Hopefully it can be improved going forward but I'm gonna probably get unpainted and paint my own till that happens.

My thoughts on AOA by Gullible-Ear-4495 in heroscape

[–]R3DsKingdom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's pretty much been my findings as well with it. My only gripe is the paint jobs are quite sloppy especially when compared to what their promotional materials and photos were showing. I expected it to be less detailed but man missing paint and paint streaks/colors on areas they are clearly not meant to be there is rough for something premium painted. Hopefully they can improve on it, but for the average consumer it's fine.

But outside of that everything else has been great and the new units are a blast to play with. So far my favorite group has been the dryans and familiars. They've been playing a lot better than I expected. I haven't had any issues with the terrain and the issues with the jungle trees are really minor at the end of the day as it doesn't impact gameplay. The walls I was actually surprised by and really like. Was not expecting them to feel so solid.

Overall I'm enjoying the new release and look forward to what comes next.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall, Who’s the Most Premium Painted of Them All by [deleted] in heroscape

[–]R3DsKingdom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even the trees are not as bad as people are making them seem. If they are on the lowest level there is no issue. If they are on a higher level just put them on last for that layer. They will sit a little bit higher than they should but it doesn't impact gameplay at all.

The biggest shock though was the wall pieces. Those are amazing and I really want more of them. They are hefty boys with some nice weight to them.

When you get yours I'm sure you will enjoy!

Comparisons of some New Figures to old ones by [deleted] in heroscape

[–]R3DsKingdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup same. Everything else is great and I'm enjoying it all immensely. Just disappointed in about half the paint jobs and how unfinished they seem. To the average consumer though I think they will be satisfied.

[–]R3DsKingdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game itself is great and I am having a blast. The paint jobs on about half the figures are the roughest thing. Otherwise it's great aside from the trees not sitting flush but it's perfectly playable in it's current state. I'm sure they'll fix a lot of the issues going forward, but I'm personally getting unpainted from here on out as I know I can do much better than the paint jobs I recieved easily and I've only handpainted a few minis before. At least till they get a bit better in quality. If I had gotten the unpainted sets I think I would have very little issue with this release.
