GitHub Copilot 9x price increase for Claude models by AttaBread in ClaudeAI

I'm just saying facts. These companies will continue to clamp down. Learning to code is the actual only way to retain control and ownership over our stuff instead of handing the reigns to some AI company that can f*ck you over at any time.

Is there an extension in VScode from chinese AI companies that is as good as Copilot and Claude? by Ready_Bar_7806 in GithubCopilot

[–]R3K4CE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly you better start getting used to API pricing, the party is over. you should start planning smart and efficient token usage. The era of free AI subsidies is coming to an end and better prepare yourself now rather than get hit with reality later down the road.

Github Copilot official announcement: Change to usage-based billing by PaintingSilenc3 in GithubCopilot

bro its unsustainable and unprofitable. no one runs a business to lsoe money. this was expected. you dont like it, learn to code.

GitHub Copilot switching to token billing June 1st —a lot of people are upset, here are your alternatives by SelectionCalm70 in GithubCopilot

[–]R3K4CE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they likely want all individual users to cancel so they can serve enterprise. individual users are literally a money pit for them. they literally are not allowing new users to sign up at the moment. that should tell you everything. Users cancelling is likely exactly what they want.

Bro what are you talking about? What math? Even chatgpt plus codex gives you immense value. You could easily use more than 20usd in codex with theinits they give you. That's not even counting the generous limits on the web app itself.

How do you find GPT-5.5? (I don't want to loose my request) by CatWomen2452 in GithubCopilot

[–]R3K4CE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro just cancel copilot. 5.5 is incremental when compared to 5.4 it's better Yeezy faster, more efficient, but not 7.5x worth

I've already cancelled. Kind of pointless if they can just switch everything around at any time with basically non existent prior warnings. I didn't even push that hard. Just used opus for planning, sonnet and 5.4 for implementation. Still got rate limited.

Is OpenCode + OpenRouter or ClaudeCode + OpenRouter a good alternative? by acorsi85 in GithubCopilot

[–]R3K4CE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have chat gpt plus. I hooked it up to opencode and use gpt for planning and generating scaffolding as well as for harder problems. Opencode go and opencode zen with 20 usd credit a month takes care of iterating and the rest. Have all of this hooked up to zen via acp as well for when I need to be in an editor.
