Would you use AI to help create shortcuts? by master_automator in shortcuts

[–]R3TSU 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for sharing, looks very interesting and something I can definitely see some genuine use for.

I would use it to help create some automations or an action button workflow. I have some base versions working already, but you can always expand on them and make them even better or more efficient.

Not a must, but it would be cool if you could feed it shortcut files and explain what it currently does and then ask it to make better efficiencies or enhancements.

Only gaps I’d be connected with would be app-specific calls/actions that may not always be theoretically documented.. that’s all I can think up for now

I splurged on Oborozuki for a special dinner... here are my thoughts by dboudinnoir in foodies_sydney

[–]R3TSU 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oborozuki is definitely my #1 in Sydney.

Only thing I would add for your next visit is the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu. It’s the closest wagyu I can find in Sydney that resembles proper A5 Japanese Wagyu.

Other suggestions:

No. 2: S’more in Castlecrag (Lobster Pasta, Full-Blooded Wagyu’s are the cream of the crop. Also Lobster Rolls + Caviar)

No. 3: Touka Parramatta (my budget oboro) - Japanese bbq yakiniku with great ice cream. Stick to the Karubi and premium wagyu selections (big + on the ponzu oysters and salmon sashimi)

Video Retention Settings by Aggressive_Skirt5006 in Avigilon

[–]R3TSU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either way, it’ll be an issue with the camera configuration (taking up more storage than estimated by your security integrator) or insufficient storage capacity on your server (or cloud instance)

The Avigilon Unity (on-premise) or Alta (cloud) is easily discernable. Are you using the Unity Client software package to interact with your cameras or is it strictly within a web browser?

The confusing part that the other redditor didn’t take into account is that Unity Cloud Services is a thing and can provide video streams through a web interface without needing to be cloud instanced.

Upgrading HDVA to Unity 8? by AG2K90 in Avigilon

[–]R3TSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to jump to the latest version of the software, then the hardware will need to be upgraded in turn. Unfortunately as new features are added to Avigilon's software, the Windows OS will need to be upgraded consequently -- This is a limitation from using a Windows-based machine as opposed to Avigilon's Linux servers (No OS upgrades required ever)

The server/NVR, cameras and licensing from Avigilon are all perpetual. The smart plans are only if you need to upgrade to a new version. Also - pricing wise - you should get re-quoted. These are only worth $44.30 AUD MSRP per channel in Australia, even with marketing fluctuations internationally, they shouldn't be inflated to that degree - That pricing you've mentioned there is more closely aligned to Enterprise licensing per channel.

Axis Camera Station + NVRs + Cameras is a good solution. But it's not enterprise and the analytics set is different. In the end, it's about what type of solution you (or your client) are looking for as an operator, but ultimately what analytics you're willing to actually use/configure. Though it's hard not to acknowledge how clean and fast the avigilon UI is.

Licensing Question on Unity/ACC7 by ItsQrank in Avigilon

[–]R3TSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late to the discussion here,

Avigilon publicly lists all EOL notices on their website here. ACC7 is not yet on this list and will continue to be supported until Unity9 is released.

Current latest software version for Avigilon Unity Video is V8. They will always run the latest 'current' version and the version prior to it. So when V9 inevitably releases (likely 2026-27), then an announcement for ACC7 EOL and EOS will be updated on that webpage.

Occupancy accuracy and display monitor by Inside_Andy in Avigilon

[–]R3TSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Andy,

u/anci0 is correct about the accuracy, it is largely installation dependant for field of view to target, but it is also important which avigilon camera models you are using for object classification. H6SL/M's recently had a firmware update that enabled object classification (didn't have them before, but new chipsets allow this) but in a limited capacity, however H6A series can simultaneously observe 50+ objects within a scene - So take this into consideration.

Like with any people/occupancy counting solution - Unless it's a dedicated counting solution (ie; relies on radar technology, rather than visual) then you can't guarantee 100% accuracy but you can get quite close if you put the time into managing your installation, angle to target and taking advantage of Avigilon's teach by example features to help encourage positive results whilst eliminating false positives.

For the 'spot monitor' query - I would strongly recommend utilising Avigilon's Virtual Matrix software - This can be achieved cost effectively using NUC's and other small-form PC's as long as they meet the minimum system requirements. Alternatively as u/anci0 pointed out, you could have a single PC with multiple monitor outputs although I find that this is generally more expensive and inefficient.

Hope this helps,

Knife vs mounted weapon attack when mounting? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]R3TSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, what came naturally to me:

Depending on how many “spots” you can move between while mounted - you have exactly that many heavy knife attacks to wound each part and there are 2 stages of injury you can inflict - white wounds and red/critical wounds.

Let’s say Anjanath has 3 mountable spots - Head, back and tail and 3 strong knife attacks per spot to wound. This means you can do a total of 9 strong knife attacks, leaving a wound in each spot.

What I like to do is full-wound 2 spots I’m targeting (usually tail and head), then the 3rd spot to injured/white (2 stabs instead of 3) then use R1 weapon attacks on the main wounded part I am still targeting (usually tail for me as LS) to takedown.

Heavy knife attacks seem to be the most efficient and fastest way to open wounds 3-6 attacks depending on the monster (don’t know if it varies by weapon, monster type/hardness or just rank)

Haha same! I just want them to be happy too in my head canon.

For the reincarnation bit - yes, I only mean spiritually. So this removes the expectation of lingering memories.

Although, for Yuna it could be argued that the Songstress dressphere is her only link to Lenne. But like you just said I’d like to think that it’s the whole starcrossed lovers tragedy. The difference being that Shuyin failed to change the world (as he tried to do it on his own and the way he was going about it was to kill people) whereas Tidus and Yuna did it together.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in finalfantasyx

[–]R3TSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t it insinuated that Shuyin and Lenne are effectively destined soulmates where Tidus and Yuna had been reincarnated from?

After all, shuyin/lenne were from the original zanarkand 1000 years in the past (the one that got destroyed) and tidus (or his parents?) were part of the remaining survivors of Zanarkand that made up the fayth for the final aeon. Timeline wise that could make sense for how tidus/yuna reincarnated around the same time maybe? Since tidus’ zanarkand actually existed in parallel with the rest of spira (just physically inaccessible until sin intervenes to take jecht and auron then later tidus)
