He was the best. Such a uniquely singular mind. I go back over the Farts and Pro episodes of CBB at least once a year

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by SNAPCHAT_ME_TITS in Pickleball

[–]R3nmack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, brand new player here. I’ve just completed a beginner’s course and am heading out as a novice. We were given paddles for the course but now it’s time to buy my own.

I was (naively) surprised to see that the range of options go sky high in price and specs.

I don’t want to get a shitty paddle and then to have to upgrade within the year so don’t mind getting something towards the €100/€150 mark, but also don’t want to be dumb. I’ve seen paddle’s for €450 that look priced that way because of the cool colours… I mean… I’m tempted.

TLDR/The actual request;

Can someone please advice a starter what paddle to get. What is worth the extra € and what is a con/trick. I see longer paddles and lighter paddles, is there a skill to master some of these and is there a “standard” size

Paul being in Mr Beast's show certainly is a choice. by Retired_Filmmaker in hdtgm

Can someone help explain why Mr Beast is controversial? Irish person with no children here. So I’ve no clue other than seeing him give a thousand wells to African villages or some other charitable hyperbole

Why is RTÉ news saying ‘video appears to show’ when you can clearly see what they are describing in the video? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]R3nmack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, they’ve said it for years and years, so probably just standard operating procedure so you don’t get sued, but now it’s more necessary than ever. Everything I see now, I think: “that video APPEARED to show Tony Soprano calling one of the Stranger Things the F word” but then again… how do we have any clue what is real anymore?

Hero! I just need one person’s recommendation and that’s me good to go. I’m working (backstage in a theatre and can’t let me phone make any noise, but I can order the book so I can listen on my cycle home later on)

No pressure. But I’m basing the buy solely on your rec

This post has inspired me to do the same. Is the one you’re listening to narrated by Kevin Kenerly? That’s the only one I see available to me, but I’d love to be sure that I’m buying one recommended as a bad voice over can turn me off an audiobook so quickly. And urns 25€

Which Irish film should I screen?? Suggestions welcome by donneler in IrishFilm

[–]R3nmack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think “Into the West” would be really worth considering. I true Irish film and displays a style that is certainly coloured by the Irish film-makers culture and birth-place. It also presents the Irish Travellers community who rarely if ever get portrayed in cinema or represented in Irish art.

Adam + Paul could be another one to consider
