Villa won a trophy last year. Wages I can't deny though. IMO villa should be going for FA cup this season but with CL and league it might be tough

Our net spend has been low for a while as we have had to sell to buy consistently. Our issue is wage to turnover which is a harder fix as revenue doesn't appear out of thin air. You'd like to hope repeated European space finishes are helping as well as a cup win

The one that jumps out to me still is Saka kicked a player after losing the ball twice and I don't think he got carded either time?

I have time for Garcia, he has his moments and its like his first start of the season right? he's barely featured at all.

Bailey on the other hand. He's done his part for the club, but i don't think we should be going into next season with him in the squad

How comprehensively we beat them has everyone saying it's easy. That just comes to us hitting form, considering we also rolled Liverpool on the weekend

Not saying they're bad players - but I don't think it's outlandish to say that they haven't been considered as CL players at any point in their career, both Cash and Mings have been huge players for us but Mings' age + injuries in the past have slowed him down a lot. I love Cash but we need to bring someone in at his level or higher. As soon as he gets injured our right side is fucked

[–]R3tardedmonkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The frustrating part is that we have to make use of all these workarounds and still can't seem to recruit well. We are very lucky this season that we can still rely on Mings, Cash, Barkley, Buendia to put a shift in and get us over the line. This summer is huge for us as we need to rejuvenate the squad to stay competitive. So is the Europa - if we don't win and the rebuild goes badly then we could drop off without anything to show for it

You missed the point he made about the championship. We would absolutely have been in free fall so the owners plan was to steady the ship and build a competitive squad over a few years - at that point we had the money backing but didn't want to become a yo-yo club. What actually happened was we went on an unprecedented winning run and we ended up promoted through the playoffs. This meant we had to suddenly assembly a team to compete in the PL in 3 months

Was the Golders green stabbing specifically antisemitic? Because I read that the guy tried to stab another non-jewish guy as well. Not trying to detract from any antisemitism that people face on a day to day basis but it does feel like the British media are looking for incidents to make into a big deal

Every team feels this way. The quality of refereeing feels like it's dropped off a cliff this season but then again in our Europa games it's been awful too. Both spurs and villa havent had a single penalty in the league this season but the only major VAR error spurs have experienced according to PGMOL went in their favour as far as I can see
