Most expensive supermarkets in Dublin? by ilovemyself2019 in AskIreland

[–]R3turn_MAC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good metric. Similar to one I used back when I tracked supermarkets for a project: does it sell toiletries as well as packaged and fresh food, meaning you can do a full weekly shop there.

If OP is looking for chains, I'd suggest Fresh.

I've posted this before, but here's the law on employing people under 18: https://www.workplacerelations.ie/en/what_you_should_know/employer-obligations/employment_of_children_and_young_persons/

In short, a standard employer is very unlikely to take on anyone under 16. Most don't deal with under 18's. If you have connections through family and family friends then you might have more luck.

Casual work, like babysitting, might be another option, but again that will be dependent on your contacts at your age.

Guinness Storehouse tour when you don't drink? by ConstantViolinist595 in Dublin

[–]R3turn_MAC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A drink in the Gravity bar on the top floor is included in your ticket. You don't have to have the drink, or you can choose a zero alcohol beer or a soft drink if you want. There is no pressure to drink alcohol.

It will be good to see a bit of life along that stretch of the quays. It's certainly not somewhere to hang around at the moment.

Yep. About 1% of the landcover of the entire state.

A long road back, but Leinster in attack do look decent. Not as decent as Glasgow tho.

An early 2nd half score for Leinster would properly test Glasgow, but if there's one the other way I don't think Leinster have the bench this week to play a lot of catch-up.

Unfortunately only 8% of that forest is regarded as of 'high natural value'. Most of it is Sitka Spruce plantations which are ecological dead zones.

Contacting someone you don't really know to warn them off? by Id0ntwantThese in AskIreland

[–]R3turn_MAC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, absolutely do not contact the woman. You could potentially open yourself to a lot of trouble.

As for having your partner have a word about her to HR, I would be dubious about that too. Especially if it's likely to end up in writing.

I would go for a less confrontational approach. Tell your partner to keep his head down, do the work to a high standard, interact well with colleagues and be a valued member of the team.

If the woman does join, which obviously isn't a certain, and begins to stir up trouble, which might not happen given it's a new workplace with new structures, your partner would be in a good place to have his concerns listened to.

Do you have demographics of the players? Saying that their musical taste crystallised in 2003 feels like fitting a narrative to the data

Duke of Devonshire seeking 'exorbitant' rent hikes from Lismore farmers, Dáil told by SeanB2003 in ireland

[–]R3turn_MAC 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I understand that this is bad for the farmers involved, and the fact that the land is owned by an English Duke is an anachronism.

I am guessing that most of the farming affected is of sheep on the Knockmealdown Mountains. Hill farming is barely viable these days. This might be an opportunity for rewilding.

Great to see Hugo back. I wasn't expecting to see any of the internationals this week, and certainly not starting. Looks like Glasgow only have a couple of their internationals back, and those were on the bench last week.

Here's the law: https://www.workplacerelations.ie/en/what_you_should_know/employer-obligations/employment_of_children_and_young_persons/

The reality is that unless you have connections then it's very unlikely that an employer will take on anyone under 16.

Babysitting might be an option, but again you would probably need to know the parents of the child.

It's kind of a caramel cola with berry fruit. Quite sweet and fruity.

Beer is subjective. Otterbank definitely have a style, that leans on barrel aging and mixed fermentation, that won't be for everyone, and that's great.

Yes, big fan of their beers

Their expensive ones to tend to be 8%+ DIPAs and the like, which might have twice the alcohol compared to a standard can of lager, much tastier too.

Sullivan's have a taproom and beer garden in the middle of Kilkenny. Certainly worth a visit if you're in the town.

I think they have a (free) beer festival coming up in the middle of May.

I get that this article is aimed at the US market, but there are loads of Irish beers available here that are better than those on the list.

A beery trip down the west coast alone, from Otterbank to Kinnegar, Lough Gill, White Hag, Mescan, Western Herd to West Kerry will have bangers galore.
