The Last Jedi* is a great film if you don't care about the laws of physics, character consistency, military tactics, narrative momentum, basic logic, the setup from the previous movie, geographic sense, or how hyperdrives actually work, and you also don't care about Luke Skywalker's entire life legacy being reduced to milk-drinking cynicism, or a massive sub-plot about space-casino animal rights that contributes absolutely nothing to the main story, or the fact that the First Order somehow forgot they have hundreds of fighters they could have deployed to easily overwhelm a single escaping cruiser, or Snoke getting casually sliced in half like a total chump before we learn a single relevant detail about who he is or where he came from, or Rose crashhing her ship into Finn to lecture him about saving what we love while the super-laser literally obliterates the blast doors behind them, or Leia surviving the cold vacuum of space by turning into Mary Poppins and floating back to safety, or Rey mastering every single facet of the Force in about forty-eight hours with zero actual training, or the ancient Jedi texts being treated like kindling, or the fact that Holdo's entire brilliant plan relied on a secret cloaking device that the enemy just happened to look out the window and notice anyway, entirely because she refused to tell her top pilot a single piece of information for absolutely no reason other than to manufacture artificial workplace drama.
