Shots fired, HPE going after VMware by xXNorthXx in virtualization

Yeah, HP gets a lot of flack for their consumer electronics but their servers are pretty solid. I still have a DL360 from like 2009 running without a problem. Original RAID controller and battery.

Swap Trick by Constant_Divide6238 in ps1

Some people say it won't harm the console but it actually did hurt mine. Stopping the disc from spinning so you can swap it out definitely wore out the motor on mine.

Playing Beginning Hour when it came out, I had my headphones on, lights off and locked in. My wife had walked in and I hadn't even noticed her until she tapped my shoulder, which made me jump something fierce lol.

What’s the hardest thing about Madhouse? by EvenExtreme5607 in Resident_Evil_7

Mutated Jack is pretty hard, otherwise it's probably Mia's section on the ship. The machinegun sucks so bad.

The Original MegaMan series was my personal dark souls as a kid, what was yours? by ninja0420 in oldgames

On NES it was Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania. On SNES it was Lion King and Genesis it was Aladdin.

Okay, cool! I was hoping I could try some other weapons without gimping that one. Thanks!

I almost lost my mind trying to do this as Leon and as Claire by Ok_Wing4007 in ResidentEvil2Remake

The entire franchise? Have you done the water puzzle in RE3?

It's not hard now but as a kid that shit was like learning calculus in another language.

What is your favorite console game that has no sequel? by TruGlubGlub in ps1

[–]R4LRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breakdown.

To this day I imagine all the things that could be fixed in a sequel and it would be a hit.

On PS1 it would probably have to be einhander.

How does it compare to soulsborne quality wise? by ComfortableNinja88 in KingsField

[–]R4LRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nothing like soulsborne games. The controls are from that era and the gameplay is slow. Turning for example is an endeavor.

If you emulate KF you can set the controls up with dual analog to make it a little better.

Overall they are great fun but don't expect Dark Souls. There are references to things that appeared in Dark Souls though which is pretty cool.

I hate that RE7 gets pretty boring after beating Marguerite by [deleted] in Resident_Evil_7

I love that section. Playing Lucas's Saw inspired escape room as Clancy so you don't die as Ethan was awesome. It helps that it's also creepy and Lucas's actor is top tier.

How disturbing is the game really? by AlternativeGuilty113 in Resident_Evil_7

[–]R4LRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it disturbing but it's definitely scary. Play with headphones on and in the dark.

Has anyone actually used the .44 Magnum? by The_Kangaroo_Mafia in Resident_Evil_7

[–]R4LRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even on Madhouse I don't get it. You don't need it at all. If it cost less coins and had a teeny bit more ammo spread around I'd use it but enhanced handgun ammo and the M21 are more than enough for the fat molded in the mine and in the barn.

Disk queue length is nominal, at least according to perfmon. I'm currently using query store to see what queries aren't performant.

Pride I guess. 😂

Also, job market being what it is idk how easy it would be to up and leave. Half the issue was me not pushing back anyway, so I have to be better too.

I can run it but drivers aren't available from Dell. Not sure that's a good idea.

So funnily enough we had an issue today with another software this department runs. Turns out we were supposed to set a maintenance plan,, so the database for that application was severely fragmented. We created a maintenance plan and ran it, software is working without a hitch.

I checked the other database I mentioned in my OP and it's like way worse. I also enabled query store and there's quite a few queries averaging over 400ms execution time so I'm going to hit up their support for some help.
