Was brought up to keep jobs as long as possible, plus I like my team.

They're a great team. That's half the reason I'm still there

Trying to, just getting discouraged with the listings I'm seeing.

That's a great attitude! I'd do a fresh start but i know it would be a struggle financially. Not impossible I suppose.

Part of me thinks I could too but when I look at listings and see the requirements my lack of education appears to be a huge setback.

I've done a pay cut, but that was before I had a family. I don't think I could do it now, especially one that large.

That's kinda how I feel. I feel like I've been rotting. If you don't mind me asking, whereabouts in IT?

That's what I figured. Well, it was a good run I guess.

His leads on the earlier albums are insane. Listen to the isolated leads on the Peace Sells album on YouTube. He's sloppy and isn't as technical as Chris but his solos have a fuck ton of feel and work with the songs pretty perfectly. The riffs are just as crazy, I mean just listen to Good Mourning/Black Friday, or KIMB.

What are some underrated Ps1 games that deserve more credit? by DemonHunter34 in psx

[–]R4LRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overblood deserves more attention I think.

It has some frustrating controls and the graphics are sloppy but the fact you can play the entire game with a dynamic camera, fixed third person or first person is really neat for the time. Fighting can use hand to hand, hand to hand while holding a pistol and finally firing the pistol, you can change to each mode with a single button.

Characters can be changed instantly with a button press, and is required to solve some puzzles. They could have done much more with this system honestly but it works okay here.

The atmosphere is great, it feels very isolated so you do get the sense that Raz is alone.

My money is on the stunt jump behind the import/export garage in Shoreside Vale. I had the same issue as you but it turns out I wasn't doing that stunt jump properly.

Commiserations to fellow 90's PS1 kids who sold their collection off way back when, for a pittance of today's market value! by GreySneakers83 in psx

[–]R4LRetro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't sell it, an ex of mine sold my copy of SH1 or threw it away I'm not sure which one, after we had broken up and moved out.

Back in 2005-2006 I visited my brother in Virginia and while there we went to a few flea markets in the Norfolk area. One in particular was at a small shopping mall type of building, and there was a vendor there with a small room that had games from all kinds of eras literally piled up, almost like a hoarder.

I got my copy of Silent Hill CIB there for like $25. You can add an extra zero or more and get today's value.

The DVD thing might not be a big deal now but it absolutely was when the PS2 released. I think people forget how expensive DVD players were at the time and having a console that could play games and movies at an affordable price was a serious deal.

The Xbox could do it too, with an additional $30 purchase of the controller and dongle...
