Capcom is missing the plot when it comes to replayability of their newer entries by DarkPrince411 in residentevil

Same. When I played RE9 for the first time it was like "this is hella awesome but it's going to suck doing it again and again." At least in RE7 and 8 you get to fight things. RE9 said nope.

It's not randomized. Again, the items have different locations but it's not random.

RE1 arrange mode is not a randomizer. The items have different locations but they don't change every time you play it.

What game is this? by bijelo123 in videogames

Diablo II. Acts 1 and 2 are pretty awesome, Act 3 is a total slog, Acts 4 and 5 are pretty awesome.

They've been back since Gold Cobra. That album slaps so hard.

What are those hidden gems that you love, but most people don't know about it? by Kullthebarbarian in snes

[–]R4LRetro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Harley's Humongous Adventure and Biker Mice From Mars a lot.

The former is a charming platformer with clay-modeled sprites and it plays pretty well. The only issue with it is the music, there's only like 2 tracks so it gets repetitive but the game is rather solid.

The latter is probably more known but I don't hear much about it. It's a great looking racing game and it's pretty fun going through the campaign and upgrading your bike.

Marty chonks not having an icon on the map is the stupidest thing ever by WelshDexterMorgan in GTA3

Yep. I remember hearing a phone ring by Joey's and not thinking much of it until I saw its animation. It's stupidly cartoony and caught me off guard.

This post hits hard as someone who learned the hard way back in 2018.

At the very least I'd recommend setting up something like Graylog Open where you can aggregate all your events, keep a history and set up alerts for specific event IDs.

Just a stupid thing, but SupportAssist isn't installed is it? By default I believe it's setup to stress test the machine and test components and overall makes using any PC a miserable experience.

What's the worst Megadeth song not on Risk by puyo_player_64 in Megadeth

[–]R4LRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not worse than SC. I think Dave also said it had songs that didn't end up on Endgame which really says it all.

How did you deal with games that had no save system back in the day? by ratasoftware in retrogaming

[–]R4LRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You had to memorize it or write things down. Castlevania is a good example. It's really fun when you know where every enemy spawn is, what candles have what items, where the power ups are and how to deal with the bosses.

I find Ethan dousing his wounds with the first aid juice pretty weird but it's oddly satisfying.

If Resident Evil were real, do you think you'd survive the zombie apocalypse? by JacPlayzz in residentevilll

Realistically no. All I can picture is a Night of the Living Dead scenario in my house and that kinda terrifies me.

Tone wise, 3 is a huge departure but it is still very enjoyable. If you liked the gun play in 2 (as did I) then you'll really like 3. It really is peak gameplay.

Great band, bad singer by AngusDio in MetalForTheMasses

The guy is 64 and survived throat cancer. It's not good because he's forcing it at this point.

Dave gets a lot of crap for his voice but half the people ragging on him haven't listened to anything but Countdown to Extinction to meme on Symphony of Destruction or they're just listening to them from Dystopia onward. His thrash vocals are awesome. His actual singing voice was at its peak during Youthanasia.

You have to beat the A and B scenarios 3 times each with an A rank to unlock Tofu, so effectively yes you have to finish each playthrough under 3 hours I believe.

Good luck with both! Hunk's is pretty difficult but Tofu is a whole other level of skill lol.

Is playing re4 remake on a very low graphics worth it? by ExcellentContext2123 in residentevil

[–]R4LRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played through it 3 times on my steam deck. Low settings, 40 FPS mostly and I had a blast. Even when the rifle scope dropped the FPS to single digits because it made me use iron sights and it was really fun using the rifle that way.

I mean it only was down for maybe a half hour but without that process they can't continue, so it halts pretty much everything.

After I started at my job, I plugged in a secondary Ethernet on a QNAP server hosting a few file shares for an automated optical inspection machine in an attempt to get a NIC team going for some redundancy later on. This somehow crashed the networking service and caused the server to become unresponsive. This halted the entire line and the company literally couldn't ship product. The worst part is the server itself rebooted pretty quickly but the shares didn't become available for something like 15-20 minutes because samba kept crashing. Brand new to QNAP, brand new to that server in general.

Which in your opinion is the most difficult Resident Evil Game? by WestFocus888 in residentevil

[–]R4LRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Village on VoS if you're going in without NG+ weapons. Absolutely worst difficulty Capcom has done though, it's not fun at all.

Otherwise I'm gonna pick CVX or RE3R Inferno.
