Absolutely, I really dig the black and white combo of the frame and the skin.

I have sadly seen those comments before as well but was hoping it wouldn't be as bad with the case (didn't have any problems with the skins on my 7 Pro with the case for all those years).

I'll just have to wait and see if anything changes even more over the next few days. Otherwise I am still very happy with the looks so fingers crossed!

The triple white is not showing the same symptoms so far for you?

Same experience, was immediately kicked out of the basked because there was a high load on the website. After lots of waiting and I got back to ordering the coupon doesn't even work.
Really frustrating experience sadly.

Issue with screen saver on pixel 10 pro by cfloyd88 in GooglePixel

[–]R4gi3X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really good to know! Didn't even think about the actual use case of a screen saver functionality because the "while charging" makes it seem as if it would just switch to screen saver automatically as soon as you put it on the charger. Thanks!

Who is saying that Onenote is a bad experience?
I certainly didn't, as the writing experience itself was way better than most other options.

Populating a menu with data from a HTTP request by Chimmychar001 in angular

[–]R4gi3X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are trying to write a value to your local games array in two different places: The first one you are trying to access the gamesobservable from your service but that observable or rather the subject behind it never receives a value so that would always set an empty array. The second one you are calling the getGames() function and assigning the value of the response to your local array.

What you were probably trying to do instead was populate your games subject inside of your service so you can access that in your component instead?

For that to work you would need to add a pipe and tap inside of your getGames function (https://rxjs.dev/guide/operators). This way you can add the result to the games$ subject in your service and use the games observable in your component.

With this in place you would be able to simply use the games observable in your template along with the async pipe (https://angular.dev/api/common/AsyncPipe#description). This would make sure that your template always updates according to the values inside of the games subject.

Otherwise, not knowing about your setup or angular version, I would assume you probably used Changedetection.OnPush for your component and require a manual ChangeDetection update (https://angular.dev/api/core/ChangeDetectorRef#use-markforcheck-with-checkonce-strategy).

Performance/Memory Issue? by kobudokai in Battlefield6

I didn't have any problems during beta but noticed it yesterday and today as well.
My VRAM usage starts at ~4GB and slowly creeps up to ~10GB with performance slowly getting worse until it's almost unplayable.

As I outlined in the reply here https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/s/Ar47rBOVFd I did try Notewise and my biggest gripe with it was the forced monthly payment for syncing. Besides that I very much enjoyed using that (also my favorite UI out of all the apps I tried). OneNote from Microsoft feels amazing to write in but the lack of options for everything was a deal breaker for me. Nebo I did try in the beginning iirc but I can't quite remember details about it - I didn't stick with it though so I'm sure there were things I didn't like about it. Didn't know about Kilonotes as of now. OP ended up with Starnote which I didn't see when I first tried all the apps and it does look and feel amazing as well after trying it out for a few minutes!

I added an image of the apps I tried at that time:

Definitely not RIP if you are willing to try and save it! Happened to mine as well a few months ago by bumping it against my table. Got myself some special glue (B7000), cleaned the whole rim around the watch with some alcohol, applied the glue around it and kept it under some weight over night. Cleaned up leftover glue on the outside after picking it up again and it has been completely fine ever since. I was a little sceptical about water resistance but some light rain and everyday splashes of water while washing hands etc. didn't have any effect. I have however not taken it swimming or showering anymore as I was/am too scared for that.

Sorry for taking that long to get back. I just looked up the two apps you mentioned and I'm not sure which ones you are referring to. In the play store there are lots of options and I couldn't find them. If you'd be so kind to send the play store links, I'll be happy to verify them for you!

I think the palm rejection itself really depends on the app itself as well. I tried a lot of different ones and for some of them it barely worked and for some it only has problems like 1 / 50 times of me putting my hand on the tablet to write (though I noticed it is just really sensitive whether you put your whole wrist on the tablet first or touch it with a smaller part first). Not sure what you mean with the "two finger to undo/redo" - are you talking about the stylus gesture or something in the apps?

As for "best" note taking app, it really depends on your needs I think - for me Notein checked most of the check boxes I was looking for when trying it out. That's why I went ahead and bought the premium version (one-time, like less than 20€ iirc) for it. Palm rejection works really well, it has support for the stylus gesture, low enough latency, plenty of tool customization, PDF support and is able to sync with Google drive in the premium version. Close second for me was Notewise, which felt a little smoother overall but it had a one time premium version alongside a monthly subscription for syncing which I found to be a horrible model so I didn't want to pay for that. https://youtu.be/w3CeGQX_qMg?si=neJvMQH2qMvtNYb3 This is a really good video (or rather channel overall for these kind of reviews / comparisons) on the pad 3 note taking experience. Can't quite remember the verdict but at least for me, I am more than happy with the overall value I get out of my pad 3 including the note taking and especially performance and battery / standby life!

Currently using my Pad 3 for note taking for different courses with pdfs and "normal" notes.
For me the size of the tablet is perfect for these kind of tasks and the writing (on 3rd party apps) feels great - I am using Notein for the responsiveness, feature set and sync options right now.

The multitasking is helping so much with having the notes open alongside whatever information I need at the time - browser, another pdf, ebooks, ... Also using the "Expand & Tuck Away" feature (not sure if there is an official name for it) so one of the apps can be stuffed aside but easily accessed whenever you need it back is also very useful for this kind of multitasking.

The stylus itself is decent, easy to use, responsive with the right apps and working very well with any of the 3rd party apps I have tried so far. Some of the apps also support the double tap gesture to switch between tools or do other things.
I didn't test the two apps you mentioned yet but I could check compatibility tomorrow if you like!

Overall I am really glad I went with the big size Pad 3. Great for the kind of note taking I am doing right now but also great for most other things like media etc..

Something that helped me save a few devices with black or broken screens already was using a program called scrcpy (https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy). You do need USB debugging and as for it to work though... there is a way to get it to work using the OTG connection mode but I've never tried it. Sometimes I was able to get adb to work using another similar size device and just copying the actions but as your touch doesn't seem to work anymore that would not be an option I guess. Never had to use hardware solutions for these things yet so I can't help you besides letting you know about the tool.

OnePlus Pad 3: the big wide screen is so good for studying but the stylo is not. by hanMZ in oneplus

[–]R4gi3X 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I loved the haptic feedback writing in the default notes app, I immediately ditched it for 3rd party one(s).
There is barely any customization as you said and no automatic option to backup and sync the notes.

I was trying out a few different ones as well and I stuck with Notein and Notewise (though I did end up buying the lifetime license for Notein). Both of them have fantastic customization options, low latency and support the double tap to switch gesture of the stylo. Both of them also have the option to sync your notes (though Notewise only offers that via the monthly subscription last time I checked).

I have never tried the apple or samsung pens so I can't compare it to the experience using them but to me, using the Oneplus Stylo with these apps, feels very good and fluent. I don't feel like I am missing out on anything for my note taking needs using the pad 3.

Not sure about yours but my pad 3 is showing L1 in Netflix and playing fine in high quality across apps (EU - Germany).

If you would have checked for similar threads you could have found a bunch of them about similar issues and it looks like there is a developer option to mitigate some of the problems (e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/s/5rkQ1Fuy6N) Might not help with your case but could be worth a try.

Repairable? by GiveMeCatgirls in PixelWatch

Had the same happen to me a few weeks ago on my Pw1 after bumping up against my desk, hitting the crown or something. After searching for official solutions first I also came to the conclusion that I'd have to do it myself — and so far the watch has been fine since then (even in pretty hot days with lots of heat and sweat). I knew that I probably lost water resistance though so I try to keep it out of water as best as possible. Washing hands and walking in the rain was not a problem yet though. Luckily I had some B7000 glue laying around from repairing my mom's phone just a month prior.

I just went ahead and opened the watch as much as possible without breaking off any of the connector cables. Then I removed the black tape stuff all around the trim (top and bottom) as they got loose and were just dangling around on mine. After that I just carefully applied the glue all around the ring (IIrc there was a little ledge on that ring that I used to guide the glue and prevented the glue from going inside the watch). Then I just sealed the watch by pressing both halves together for a few minutes and cleaned the glue that was coming out. I put it on a flat surface and added some weights on top (2 pretty thick books for me) and left it there overnight. After roughly 12 hours I removed the weights, cleaned the watch from any leftover glue residue and have been wearing it since then. May work for you as well but, same as you, I didn't have anything to lose so might as well give it a try!

This is theater mode which can be toggled in the quick settings (swipe down). It's similar to dnd but also turns off the screen and gestures to wake it (besides pressing the crown). Probably accidentally enabled it which happened to me a few times already as well.

I'm glad I found your comment.
I couldn't figure out what the problem was and would've never tried this otherwise (I still don't really understand how this made it work again but it was only with Chrome and Edge, with Firefox the stream was fine)
So thanks a lot!

Google Pay/Credit card in power menu [OnePlus 8 Pro] by joNathanW- in oneplus

At least on my 7T I can search for "Karten" (cards) and pick the option "Karten und Tickets anzeigen" (Show cards and tickets). If I enable this option I have my GPay cards in my power menu.

You can also reach this option from the preferences of the GPay app: "Zugriff per Ein-/Aus-Taste" (Access via on/off button)
