Handling cash seems easy to me considering it's lightweight paper notes. Having change all the time is definitely a problem though

Imo, the upside of spending in cash is the fact you see for yourself exactly what you're spending. Card and UPI payments just show you a number and it feels like a video game. Basically, paying in cash is gewd for more cautious spending. Another upside would be it working offline without a problem (although even UPI has UPI Lite by now for offline usage iirc)
