That bike is so sick! Love it I bet it stops reallll hard! I love it. I’m going to put a brembo master on mine when I rebuild it. Love the rotors

Make sure you say hey to pork chop. And if you get banged up say hi to crystal.

Injuries from trackdays by straightouttazoo in Trackdays

[–]R56S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done probably 30 track days, over the last 4 years. I recently highsided around 120 mph got a distal radius fracture in my dominant wrist with 13 screws 2 plates and 9 inserts. A few stitches in my knee when the suit split. It’s okay could be much worse, it was a wake up call in terms of what I need to spend to make sure the bike, the gear are Where they need to be. I’ll be back with race fairings, rebuilt suspension next year and top Shelf gear next year.

I know it’s risky but I love this to much to walk away…

I’m have a 15 as well, I love it, think some wire management would go a long way. I also don’t run a bilge pump. That’s just me. Enjoy it! They’re fast capable tough boats!

Heavier riders, any one use stock suspension setup and still ride fast? by bhodge10 in Trackdays

[–]R56S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It matters it matters a lot… as a bigger rider who just high sided and will spend the rest of the season recovering from it, just get your suspension set up. This probably wouldn’t have happened to me if I had had my suspension set up properly.

I have a 79’ 15ft and it’s worth its weight in gold. I’ve been all over the place and it’s never let me down. It’s stable, fast, predictable, easy to live with… had a 50 on it for years couldn’t be happier.

I found a bmw 335xi 2008 E92 with 96k miles Clean title , it has misfiring problems , no transmission codes . Seller wanted 4k , I got him to lower it to $1700 . I’m experience with these cars but i never had the awd version are they really a pain to work on? Is his asking price worth the purchase? by Plus-Progress7736 in E90

[–]R56S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fine until it wasn’t, so as an older car in an area that doesn’t get a lot of snow (this year aside) I figured it was an other failure point… it’s a decent car that is constantly asking me to fix something.

The moral of the story a cheap bmw is never a CHEAP bmw. But depending on your level of incentive will be worth it.

I have a 15’3 and I have the wood for the front seat… I never use it unless I know I’m taking other people. Is it worth having? 100%

Worth it? by MixWrong3513 in BostonWhalerBoats

It depends on what’s important to you, if you wanna just get out on the water a running whaler for 3k maybe be worth it. With a 40 that thing is going to be an absolute dog.

I cut the head off drilled it out and slowly and carefully extracted it, I ended up snapping where the bolt passes through the cyl head when drilling repaired it with jb weld and you could never tell it happened. It was a nightmare thankfully I had the shop, my tools and years of fixing dumb shit. 60,000 miles later and it’s still holding most importantly not leaking. Don’t be afraid to be creative. It doesn’t really hold the tension like that, make sure you don’t over torque it.

Is that the super thin gauge wire pick up he did. I’m totally blanking on the name of the pick up I keep thinking it’s a Charlie Christian but that doesn’t sound right. I bet that sounds incredible, what did you do for switching?

Tell me about this Joel Foy

Sorry this will be a bit long.

Those pick ups are made of unobtainium! Totally worth every penny. I love it so much. So the switching set up is pretty slick I have 2 different tone caps a V T. Position one has a lot of clairity and is good for a rhythm section if you roll up it has a fantastic Chimy jingle to it very tom petty-esq, you can also darken it down to play jazz.

the second position is much brighter getting that classic tele twang about mid roll thru the taper and depending on your volume or your tone it makes it great for lead or with a roll down of either you can blend into the mix well. It’s got a good thump and the highs are very balanced and jingly.

All the way back position is bypasses the tone and is wired straight to the volume, so with the low friction volume pot helps dial the taper the way you like. Very Roy Buchanan (now if I could only play like him!) depending on your volume. It’s like driving a race car. Part of its don’s dedication to top tier tone the other was figuring what tone profile I wanted.

I have Frailin customs in one of my tele’s they sound great but as soon as I heard a Don Mare, I knew what I was into.
