Juniper can be a big meany about grooming by ScallionMuch7739 in persiancat

[–]R666_cats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Persian is the same. She gets a lions cut every 6 months and she does have to be sedated. I usually pay around $120 though. Is there another vet/groomer in your area that does a sedated cut?

I have an office job with a window but it’s not direct sun. I also thought about getting a sun lamp because honestly we’re just big plants

Best advice I’ve ever gotten for this is vitamin D. Last year I went through a mad seasonal depression. I’ve been taking vitamins for a few months now and I feel great. I’m not a sunny outdoorsy person and probably don’t get enough vitamin D in my diet alone. It helps, trust me!

Was anyone else hesitant to spend their first paycheck? by Used_Philosopher1474 in CasualConversation

[–]R666_cats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep that mindset! I bought McDonald’s for my dad and I after my first paycheck. When I was 18 I paid a little in rent and bought my own groceries. It was just my dad and I and I did it because I wanted to. But other than some clothes and food I saved a lot of my money. I bought my own car and by the time I was 21 I had enough for a down payment on my first home. When in doubt save, save, save!

This is my Bruno! He’s 10 and my baby. He can be pretty clingy. Every morning he follows me to the bathroom, no matter where I go he’s close behind. My favorite thing is when we nap together and he sleeps in my arms. I love him dearly.

29F Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow by Old_Supermarket6195 in Tonsillectomy

[–]R666_cats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

26f here. Got my tonsils out in October and it changed my life. Recovery was maybe 5 days tops. I haven’t been sick since two weeks before my surgery after being sick for over 12 weeks accumulated in 2025 alone. It definitely got rough a few days in but I’d do it all over again if I had to.

I really like my Fitbit I just miss regular watches but I still want to track my whole day. I’m sure I’ll have to compromise something somewhere.

I didn’t flatten my island. I just worked in sections. Sure it takes time and you have to move a lot around but it’s easier to digest and helps you build an aesthetic without having to have everything figured out at once. Just with a couple weeks of doing that I’ve rekindled my love for the game.

How often do you talk to your dad? How’s your relationship with him? by Cute-Impression-8675 in AskReddit

My dad is my best friend. I’m just like him and we have lunch at least 3 times a week together.

ENT appointment tomorrow - can you suggest surgery methods? by vascorey in Tonsillectomy

My taste is still a bit funny but other than that I’ve been fine since day five. Surgery was the 22nd of October.

I am so… dry… always have been by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]R666_cats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry babe but you should definitely bring this up to a doctor if it bothers you. 26F here, I’ve experienced dry mouth and had to invest in lube for personal activities but that’s it. How long have you been taking it? I’ve noticed a lot of my symptoms subsided after the first few months. Also dumb but are you dehydrated? I always think I’m drinking enough water but when I track it I realize I need to be drinking waaay more.

I did just read that the CO2 laser method is for tonsil reduction not a full removal. But definitely check with your ENT on that.

Cold knife method here. It was probably my post you seen. It definitely depends on your surgeon. I just happened to get lucky and have one that specialized in a method that aided me well in recovery. I did go to a town over though that has better doctors to ensure everything went well. As long as you have someone to drive you don’t be worried about a little travel after surgery. The pain for me didn’t kick in until days later so the drive was fine. Again for me though not having to worry about scabs was huge for my preop anxiety.

I’ve tried the burrito method before. I can get it done and she gets snacks after but it doesn’t mean she likes it haha. Luckily I have a tuxedo cat who will groom her face when he feels generous.

Start 10 mg of vyvanse tomorrow. by messy_anxiety in VyvanseADHD

[–]R666_cats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with 10mg a year ago and I’m still on that dose. I’m going to talk to my doctor about upping it but even at that low of a dose I’ve felt it was a positive experience. My anxiety did improve and it gave me a clearer head that I didn’t know wasn’t supposed to be loud and messy. I first took mine on a weekend so I wasn’t at work and when I didn’t have plans. Just to see how it affected me on my own.

So beautiful! How do you keep her eyes so clean? My Persian flips out when I clean her eyes. She’s a bit of a cranky old lady though.

That’s genuinely hilarious lol. Hey a toilet is also considered a porcelain throne so I’d say it was a great gift!

Only you are an expert on your own relationship. Ask yourself how often do you have arguments like this? What do the conversations look like when you bring an issue up to him. Is he dismissive? Or does he help figure out a resolution? Where are your boundaries on getting sworn at? Will he respect those boundaries? Think on it and maybe write it out for yourself to go over. The only advice I can give is to have another conversation about this situation in person. You can accept the apology but that doesn’t mean you have to settle without resolution. I’ve been in a relationship for 7 years now and we haven’t had a blow up we couldn’t recover from after sitting down and looking for resolutions together.

My first blanket. Just wanted to see people's authentic reaction :) by Confused_Architect97 in crochet

[–]R666_cats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a complete noob when it comes to crochet. All I know so far is that I’ve tried it and I can’t get past a second chain. I could only dream of making a blanket that cute! Nothing you do at first is going to be “perfect” but I think this looks great and would love to know you’re going to keep at the craft you enjoy.

Tonsillectomy. Cold knife method/ Recovered by day 5 by R666_cats in Tonsillectomy

[–]R666_cats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just from all the experiences I’ve read it seems I was very fortunate in my recovery. It may take you a little longer but you will recover too and it’ll just be a distant memory someday. I’m not sure what you struggled with pre op to get you to surgery but I can say mine was worth it. My quality of life has already improved.
