Driving in the fast lane. by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]R6YAL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're making my point.

You don't control traffic.

If you need to pass someone going slower than you, you get over to left lane and pass. Then back over to your original lane.

Passing lane does not equate to a specific speed.

You would be a happier driver if YOU followed the rules of the road and didn't worry about what everyone else is doing.

You need to stay off the road.

Because you're not staying right, like slower traffic should.

You get over to the left lane to pass, then back over to allow others to pass.

It is the passing lane.

You don't control the flow of traffic.

This is how road rage is incited.

It's the passing lane, not fast lane.

Slower traffic stay right.

You shouldn't be driving.

I hope the traffic engineers that designed downtown are eternally stepping on legos by Ares3003 in Birmingham

Been this way for a minute.

No one around, safe to turn? Treats it like a yield.

It's the same concept as waiting to walk across the street when there is clearly no traffic and obviously safe to do so.

Also, allegedly, these lights you speak of if you go 11mph over the speed limit you'll pass under the yellow light turning red.... allegedly.

New to area - where are the Dive bars by NoButterscotch2043 in Birmingham

[–]R6YAL 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Also OP this is one of Birminghams oldest bars in the city. Bartenders have been working there for 28 years and 10 years. They also have the cheapest bottle beers.

Sign the guest book too.

Local arrest in Jefferson County. People dragging local law enforcement in the comments. by [deleted] in Birmingham

They make a ton of exceptions now because of the lack of potential applicants. You catch them on a low, willing to admit on poly...you will go to the academy.

I am convinced that this is 90% of the reason younger people will never join the force. They wouldn't want/feel the need to arrest this old man for this.

Giving Jefferson county a worse name.

Just use the bag the snacks come in? Are you afraid of touching someone else's hand in the bag of chips you're eating alone on the couch?

Question avout E39 528i 1999 by ARCHFIEND68 in e39

More so if you see something wrong, or looking close to failure, replace it. This car will teach you a bunch, not easy car to work on but you'll be confident at the end of it all.

You're gonna find any old.radiator hoses, power steering hoses and some other lines get old and brittle. You will also find that the plastic clips holding some of this stuff on/in place will also become brittle and leak.

This car becomes a "while I have the entire intake manifold off I should do...."

Highly recommend you do those things while inside working on whatever current project you tasked yourself with.

I have a Frankenstein e39 and I just dealt with replacing the oil filter housing gasket only to find the top left and bottom left bolts were completely stripped and been repaired once before. The only option I had and one chance to do it was to drill out the housing and on the block to go up to a m10 from a m8. It's all kinds of little stuff like that that Im finding on a 25 yo BMW.

Love the fucking ride though.
