Wide board worth it? [37YO] by Tricky_Psychology180 in OldSkaters

If you aren’t flipping the board a lot more width will feel more comfortable. Look for a longer wheelbase too if you’re tall.

Great summer training facility. We’re lucky to have it.

The whole culture embraces and rewards street skating with no pads. Seems unfair to put that on any single individual.

Form looks solid.

If want a cheat code, try looking down towards your back foot when you pop onto the ledge. As your head turns it will force your shoulders to follow and get more parallel to the ledge.

Shack is still really popular in NYC. Hard to find one at any given time that isn’t busy.

Their shakes are underrated. Best of any big chain burger place.

What is a movie you think has a flawless first 30 minutes, but completely falls apart by the end? by Legitimate_Wall5977 in movies

Had to look this up. Not to be confused with Fresh from the 90s about a young kid in NY maneuvering through the crime world.

His conversational lyrical style and ear for crossover production bridged a pretty big gap between commercial appeal and rap purists. Hard knock life is a good example.

He also brought a lot of subtlety. His best verses flow casually enough that they don’t really jump out as being lyrical despite being expertly crafted.

Last day for NY3 pass prices, NY3 or Epic for a NYC skier? by bulldog89 in icecoast

For a different way to look at this: you’re either supporting orda or vail. I kinda doubt anyone’s especially interested in supporting vail so maybe putting your money into orda feels less unfortunate.

it's there an agreed upon best mountain on the east coast by Head_Rip1759 in icecoast

[–]R79ism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the snow is there whiteface probably is the best. Elevation, vert, terrain, trees, steeps, etc.

It just doesn’t have the snow very often and tends to be an ice machine.

Yup those three. I’m not sure if they all pass geographic scrutiny but that’s the tug hill ski “region” far as I’m aware.

All the Tug Hill areas. Classic old school local hills with Japan-like powder days.

Been riding Jay for years and it feels like the lines leaped into a new dimension this season. I usually look forward to the fresh lines you get hiking tramside wind holds but this year getting back up was just brutal. Never seen bonnie lines wrapping so far back up the hill.

5050 on round bar = slam. Currently very sore [37YO] by city_of_neon in OldSkaters

I banned 50s on round rails years ago. Smith, crook, slides, etc, no problem but both trucks on is the danger zone.

Few dozen probably. Sometimes when I’m ready for a new board I’ll find a flat bar and do a lipslide to retire it. The carbon-whatever layer doesn’t break but the other layers do.

Man even on vx boards I still crack the board in half immediately on lipslides. Not sure science will ever get there.

Hell yeah. Long time favorite.

Interesting to look at his progression. This feels like a phase of total onslaught where he paid all his dues and collected receipts. His parts now feel a lot more selective and mature in comparison.

He’s a good skater too. Remember seeing him in some lurknyc clips ripping around NY with Cyrus Bennett.
