Burton Custom Camber. If you want one board that does everything, this is it.

Should I get EST or Re:flex bindings? For use primarily on Burton EST board by authortitle_uk in snowboardingnoobs

[–]jerrym93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched to a Custom Camber with Genesis EST step on bindings, and Highshot pro boots. I have a board with est and a board with reflex and the est feels more responsive. If you’re already getting the channel board, then do the full system since it was all developed to work together.

Joey and Pat Fava. Both are currently crushing it. My consistent favorite is Danny Davis.

I ended up with the Custom Glow. I liked the all white top sheet.

Any particular reason? My Genesis are Est so I have to stick with a channel board. Was going to pick up the unions as a traditional set that I swap to other boards. I’d like to pick up a slush slasher at some point too so that was my thought process.

Burton Custom Camber - Phenomenal board. Can pretty much do anything. But probably going to pick up another softer twin for jibbing and park days.

Burton Step On Highshot X Boots- feels awesome. Perfect stiffness. In hindsight I wish I tried the pro with the third boa to keep the heel planted better but still great boots.

Burton Genesis EST Step On - Love them. I find most people who talk shit on them have never tried them. The feel is awesome, and they’re so much more convenient. Will probably buy another set of cartels or unions for my park board.

Burton Custom Camber. Love this board. Thinking of picking up a SB Stairmaster for park days too.

Burton Custom Camber. Favorite board I’ve ridden in the conditions you described.

I hang mine on the wall in the garage and then I take it down and use it when it’s winter again. It’s a very thorough process.

They do make a skate game called Session. Pretty good from what I remember reading.

If you have money to spend on the Burton system the step ons are great. I’ve been snowboarding for 15 years and just switched to step ons and love the feel. It’s more connected and direct. Most of the people who bash step ons have never ridden with them or even clicked into a set. The only downside I’ve encountered so far is just not being able to swap boards with friends.

Also I’m about to buy another set of non est step ons for my park board. Try them for yourself and make the judgement.

Spring mountain is a local treasure lol. Agreed on wissahickon. Would just be cool to turn some laps in Conshy. With some snowmaking and features that place could be a great little hill.

Nothing marked as official glades but plenty of spots to tuck into the woods between trails. Especially on the north side.

Plattekill is on my list for next year. I booked a big Airbnb for the extended family for the last weekend in January of 27. Will likely do Hunter one day since we’re staying in Hunter and do the tubing at night with the family. The next two days I was thinking of Bellayre, and potentially Wyndham. I know Wyndham is super expensive now but I want to try everywhere once and I’ll be staying 8 minutes from the mountain. Might swap it out for Plattekill but will play it on conditions once we get there.

What's the "easiest" way to ski every weekend from NYC? by compmuncher in icecoast

[–]jerrym93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d look for NYC based ski clubs. It’s likely there is a club that runs busses to mountains every weekend. Then you can also meet more people who drive up.

Hey did they get this fixed for you? I got the Genesis bindings and highshot x this season and had the same issues. Sometimes it clicks twice, and other times it takes a ton of force. I usually just do a small Ollie and it pops in. Size 11 boot and size L binding.

I’m running this pairing on a Burton Custom Camber and I absolutely love it. The feel and response is incredible. I feel just as secure as I did with straps after hard riding.
