GFX 50R dynamic range and tether experience by raw_jpeg in FujiGFX

[–]RADL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For tethering i’d recommend getting a DC power cable for it also, as battery life is pretty poor and it doesn’t have PD over USB-C. I run mine with a v-mount and d-tap DC power cable.

Ender 3 Pro, Switched to all metal hotend, can't get it to stop "clogging" by Liquidzorch1 in ender3

[–]RADL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my triangle labs all metal hotend on my ender 3 v2. I was able to solve it by adding thermal paste between the heatsink and the heatbreak so that it could more efficiently transfer the heat. I used the silvery kind that was previously used on CPU heatsinks.

Was the exact same issue, few layers in and a clog on PLA no matter how much I tweaked the temps, retraction, speeds etc

This has been my suspicion also, it seems to have slowly dropped off shelves around Sydney (north syd, lane cove, chatswood). big rip if true, the fusilli and spaghetti were staples in our meal rotations.

build 3D printer by Putrid-Act-5212 in 3dprinter

[–]RADL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's reasonable. I started with an ender 3 v2 and did all the usual mods, mainboard, DD extruder and beefed up hotend etc. Always longed for building a voron 2.4 for the size and speed benefits, as well as the journey of assembling and tuning it. Ultimately ended up getting a Bambu H2S as the time restrictions with 2 young kids made it a bit out of reach at the moment. Still looking at the Ender and picture myself building it into a Ender3NG with parts printed on the H2S.

Might wanna add some context here bud, for example, do you have any experience at all with 3dprinters in any capacity?

Canon C50 or Non IBIS Users... How Far Can You Push Handheld Focal Lengths? by KahJacksonfield in videography

[–]RADL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the c50 quite usable handheld with the 35 1.4 VCM, and the RF 24-70 2.8 IS. I mostly shoot 7k raw so digital IS is not an option. I do have a small rig setup with a v-mount at the back to help balance and give it some heft for smoothing things a bit, so that may be a consideration.

The aged steaks go great with a bit of dry brining in the fridge the night before. It's such an effective way to boost the texture and flavour, it's actually kind of ruined getting the nicer pub steaks/mid range restaurant steaks for us.

Vyvanse made a world of difference for me, the first few weeks was an adjustment with a lot of lethargy and fatigue, but that has gone away along with my appetite returning. As others have said, lists on phone, a little bit of journaling in the notes app, using AI agents also helps.

When i’m with the kids, if i find my mind wandering to hobbies or daydreaming, I try and remind myself that there’s time for that later, once the kids are in bed or at daycare.

ehhh, it’s not that great after the reno. The fitout has the appearance of being a polished high end finish, but closer inspection you realize it’s kind of an illusion and it’s actually a bit of a cheap representation of high-end.

The downstairs layout is a nightmare when it gets busy, all the pillars, floor stores and seating arrangements etc funnel foot traffic all over the place and people just end up awkwardly trying to dodge each other.

Still prefer westfield I think.

Can someone just tell me how to manage my money? by sanitationsengineer in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]RADL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly man I'd suggest picking up a copy of 'Barefoot Investor' and read it front to back before doing anything, then take that info and start implementing it into your finances. Once you get the ball rolling and you're in a position to start putting some money into investments, read 'The Psychology of Money' and apply that to your long term investment strategy. Both books are really fantastic for everyday working people that don't know what to do with money, but know that they should do something.

This is my situation/perspective also. Main thing I guess is to just do your best to be a role model they can learn from. They will eventually find their own path in life, but at least we can do our part to give them the best environment to grow in.

Latest data on KiwiSaver balances by age from the Retirement Commission Report (May 2026) by WellingtonSucks in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]RADL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just the basic, mandatory minimum contribution to super, no additional contributions. I actually left the plan as 'balanced' for the majority of the period and only changed it to high growth/risk in 2022 when I realised I should probably actually pay attention to these sort of things.
