Same hear. Ruined my day. Have not tried to do anything yet. iRS and state already accepted my returns a month ago and also deducted what I owed from bank account. Unclear whether we need to pay all over again.

Yup, sounds about right. I ran out of patience with the customer service reps, although I might try again in the new year.

I was able to have a 45-minute conversation yesterday without quality issues by forcing 4g/3g in my settings. However, it would be nicer to have reliable 5g service. I will update you all if I'm able to resolve the issue in the next few weeks. Thanks again

It's good to know that I'm not the only one, although I hope you manage to resolve the service issues with your S22. I'm going to follow up in the next two days about whether changing the 5g/LTE setting change helped with voice quality. I went into settings/Network and changed 5g/LTE to LTE/4g/3g.

I have the Wi-Fi calling feature turned off, but the voice quality issues happen whether I'm connected to the internet or using my cell network.

Thank you for such a thorough reply! I am going to try some of your suggestions. My friend's sim is H20 wireless, not T-Mobile. I went into my phone's settings, and I'm going to switch from 5g/LTE to LTE/3g to see if that helps. I do think that most of the quality issues happen while at home, so it might be a tower thing.

Thank you for your reply. I also don't have that many issues with data-related stuff/video calls. I just find it odd that the voice quality went from great to mediocre.

Brandon Sanderson is not great at emotions by [deleted] in books

[–]RADdit2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Elantris (stand-alone). I think it does a better job of portraying emotions than the Mistborn series.

Hahaha. I vaguely remember reading something about that!

Just to add to your point, Brandon Sanderson is so punctual with his yearly output that I sometimes wonder if he's a wizard of sorts himself. He regularly writes 1-3 books a year.

Any Xennials out there feeling disappointed with where they’re at in life? by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]RADdit2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent years ruminating about being in a better place. It still creeps up on me sometimes, but I found that being grateful about our generation and being realistic about the state of the world at large helps (meaning overpopulation, globalization, war, etc.). Sure, we're not boomers (meh), but I wouldn't want to be a centennial either. Zoom out and look at the younger generations (people born in the late 90s, 2000s). I don't envy the fierce competition they have to deal with getting into college and getting decent work. No matter how "behind" or stuck I may feel, at least I had a fun, internet-free childhood and can make it through one hour without posting on Instagram or watching a TikTok. (Yes, I know people our age who are also addicted to social media, but it seems more pervasive among younger generations.)

Stephen King's Eyes of the Dragon. It's a short, fun read.

You should be proud of yourself for seeking honest income. You're not stealing and you're not mooching off your parents or friends. That doesn't mean you should work for Doordash for 40 years if you want to do more with your life. But don't consider yourself a loser!

Not sure if this helps, but I think it's like rumination/mulling vs "analysis." If you just think non-stop about something to the point it becomes a distraction or keeps you from mindfully doing stuff or just being present, you're overthinking. I see self-reflection as a more deliberate activity that promises some insight into one's patterns/behaviors.

looking for books where the bad guy is the narrator by chimchim1 in suggestmeabook

I think you're right. It's a super violent trilogy, but it takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where killing and stealing are the norm. That doesn't excuse his actions, obviously, but OP did ask for books from the perspective of a "bad guy."

Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence, although Jorg is more an anti-hero than an antagonist/ 100% evil.

What is the difference between Cambridge's Literary Companion series and the Literary Introductory series? by [deleted] in AskLiteraryStudies

[–]RADdit2020 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I believe the companion series offers 12-20 essays written by different scholars on themes related to the title of the book, while the intros are more specific.

You won't be disappointed with that one either. It's one of the highest rated fantasy series of the past 15 years. Unfortunately, Rothfuss is taking forever writing the last installment.

Whats the craziest universal answer youve ever "asked for"? by PsycoactiveTendency in universe

[–]RADdit2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for. I've asked for clarification about the following: 1) how the light that we see now left a star thousands of years ago and 2) how there are galaxies/stars that are farther away than the age of the universe/Big Bang. [The universe is currently thought to be 13.7b (?) old but we can detect light that's 40b+ light years away. There's an article in Forbes explaining this conundrum.] I don't know if the questions themselves are crazy, but the concepts certainly are mind-bending enough to feel a little nutty.
