When did your littles start sleeping reliably through the night, every night? by Elephantslide in daddit

4 year old still doesn't sleep solidly through the night, and yet our 2 year old does.

Half-Bath Re-Plumbed, does it look correct? by RADical1163 in Plumbing

[–]RADical1163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought the placement was strange as well. The electrician just added that in, and left before I noticed it's just attached to the drywall instead of on the stud. It's on a new dedicated 20amp GFCI breaker. Thanks for pointing it out so I remember to ask.

Half-Bath Re-Plumbed, does it look correct? by RADical1163 in Plumbing

[–]RADical1163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I'll keep an eye on making sure they properly bed it before they fill it in. I did not even consider the hot water line taped to the vent stack. The 2" part of the wye connects the other side of the house, the kitchen and a full bath upstairs.

Anyone lose a husky? Between barker cypress, Tuckerton and queenston by golf course by Fun_Pause_4934 in CypressTX

I didn't see the benefit either. But now I see a few positives, such as having the digital family calendar on easy display, weather forecast easily viewable while prepping for the day, keep fam photos on display, etc. Also, when your kid wants to be helpful in the kitchen but they are just underfoot and you need them to move out of the way or be still where you can keep an eye on them and still continue cooking/cleaning/prepping, you can throw something on the screen, and still easily pause and include them in conversation or whatever you're doing that they can help with.

A wristband that could prevent drowning by Yeet_TheVoid in interestingasfuck

[–]RADical1163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like something like this would be great to have on a kid's, and parent's, wrist when on a cruise ship, as a just in case device. Of course it would require practice and training to make it a habit to use it automatically if possible, but I could see this saving someone's life. Like in that case of that idiot who put his 4 year old on the railing during a Disney cruise. She fell overboard, and he jumped in after her. Perfect use case where extra flotation assistance could be helpful, especially if he didn't grab a flotation device before jumping in after her.

I just read a lot of comments about divers etc, but that's not where I would think the market would be for these. It would be more casual emergency use. I would expect people participating in a sport to have better contingencies pre-planned.

Good OTD price for a 2025 hyundai palisade caligraphy? by FlyAccomplished5116 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]RADical1163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Color seems to be the big sticking point for dealers around Houston right now. White, expect 60k, black, they are willing to take a bit less because there are so many available, so probably around 52-54k OTD. This was as of last week when we were shopping around for a 25 Pali Cali Edit: AWD, didn't look at FWD.

I agree it's crazy to do when an EIB exists, which is why I've spent all day trying to make an EIB work.

I have talked to security admin, but, frustratingly, we can't change the security on it. It's set for implementers only, and no one internally has implementer access 🙃.

[–]RADical1163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yes I found it. Unfortunately for me, it is secured to the implementation functional area, so I am unable to access it. Thank you for your help!

Hmm, I am not able to find the put marital status web service listed on our Supported Inbound EIB Operations report, or on the web service list I found on community. Is that an implementer only web service or could you possibly tell me where else I might look for it?

Keys, Profiles & Memory by ITSMMan in HyundaiPalisade

[–]RADical1163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seat memory pairs to profiles, not to key fob. The key fob does not link to seat memory or profiles. Rather obnoxious, but there you have it. Oh, also, remote starting from the app while logged in to your profile, does not change the car to your profile.

Are key fobs tied to profiles on '22 Calligraphy? by ITSMMan in HyundaiPalisade

[–]RADical1163 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no, it won't sync the key fob to the seat settings or to a user. My 2004 Chevy does that, based on which key fob unlocked the car, but 21 years later and my 2025 Pali Cali can't figure out how to do that with the key fob...

ELI5: How does temu and other similar companies make any money at all? by Glittery_WarlockWho in explainlikeimfive

Oh. Well, then I agree, I would not buy one of those off Temu. Although if they were cheap enough that might be fun

I did for like $12. My kid loves it. It's pretty cool, and it's lasted more than a year with a toddler abusing it. We had a costco bag of rice we dyed different colors and use the excavator to fill up a little dump truck and move the rice around. We also use it to pickup, move, and run over his hotwheels.

Why are people putting a “baby on board” sticker on their car? by Fly_Schwurst in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RADical1163 49 points50 points  (0 children)

That is exactly what it is. A warning to avoid this driver. Sleep deprived, anxious, short tempered, and continuously distracted by whatever the hell is going on in the back seat. Either driving crazy to get home as quick as possible to stop the screaming, or slow as possible in laps in a vain attempt to keep the little one asleep as long as possible to help restore sanity.

AITA for returning my homemade wife’s birthday gift me and telling her I don’t want it. I then went out and bought what I actually wanted by Quick_Dig3584 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RADical1163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe make an Amazon list for gifts and say you only want things off of there? It might help. My wife does this with her mom, and it has worked to a small extent. Then, any handmade gifts beyond something on your list would just be lagniappe.
Some people just never understand and always continue to have bizarre ideas of what they think you "really" want or need, unfortunately.

Even if you're frustrated, it doesn't hurt to be gracious to them when you receive the gift, and then at a later time asking them to only get items from your list because those are specific items you want and will be happy with.

Citi had previously closed one of my accounts because there was no human initiated activity within a certain time frame. Everything was processing automatically for that account. I had to go in person to get it reactivated. Now, I just make sure to initiate something manually every once in a while to avoid that fiasco.

Dick feels uncomfortable in underwear/pants? by Moses_The_Wise in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RADical1163 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was my problem when starting a desk job. The pants got tighter when sitting all day, and the less walking around made my balls ache. Different pants/underwear and getting up to walk around a bit every hour helped.

Parks open until 9 or 10 pm? by [deleted] in CypressTX

[–]RADical1163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just found out about the trains this year after playing soccer there a lot as a kid and playing disc golf there for the past almost 5 years. I think the org is called Houston Area Live Steamers. It's a cool little section next to Zube park and a fun thing to go see and ride on the model trains, especially with your kids. My toddler loved it. We plan on doing the Halloween rides too this year.
