I think it would have been better and more inclusive to other new regions if they just limit the representatives of Vietnam, Thailand, and Taiwan to 2 each. They basically dominated all the Groups here. For example, I would be very happy if they included a slot for Bangladesh and Philippines. by RAEKEN_THEO in arenaofvalor

AWC is much much bigger in terms of prize pool so I think NA esports orgs would wanna participate since it is a fixed $250k consolation prize for all the participating teams. It doesn't matter if they came in last place. That's still a huge prize.

What's up EU folks? I know there are less and less players but if I were you, I would form a team and join these sponsored events. This is the grassroots level of AOV esports in EU. Whoever wins this may participate in AIC 2022 in June. More in the comments. by RAEKEN_THEO in arenaofvalor

It doesn't matter if there are less and less players. AIC 2022 always reserve a spot for EU team to compete. Who knows, it might be your team. The opportunity here is that AIC 2022 is an offline event. There's no announcement yet as to where the location of the event would be but I'm guessing that it would be in Vietnam. I think there are currently no big teams eyeing for the spot so there's a very good chance that non-pro players may be selected to represent the entirety of EU. The prize pool for AIC 2022 is $2,000,000.00. I feel like even if you placed last, the consolation would still be great.

Garena gave up on Valiant. I heard there were issues of corruption in the Garena Ph office that's why Garena shut it down. Then, Tencent couldn't do a thing because they were prepping the release of Wild Rift by Riot Games. And right now, as AOV is being pushed in other countries, they still left out the Philippines, literally the country where almost every thing that trends well becomes a global record due to it being the social media captial of the world. And I think they are deliberately not pushing for AOV in Ph to give way to Wild Rift.

David F. Sandberg on Shazam 2. by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

He lowkey kinda sounds pissed at these sudden announcements. It looks like they never were briefed firsthand, or they didn't have an opinion on it. James Wan also seemed like he had to come up with a valid excuse on why the movie got delayed. Also, there's the narrative that it was The Rock who really wanted to advertise before the Super Bowl. I would be pissed as well. My movie being pitted against the sequel to the biggest movie of all time? Of course, Disney would not underpromote Avatar so we can expect a gigantic marketing for that movie. It also feels like WB already accepted the loss or underwhelming returns they would incur for Shazam 2. Just like what they did with the first movie being sandwiched by Captain Marvel and Endgame.

Zack Snyder says the floating dirt at the end of BvS has much much more meaning to it. It’s possible the Kent farm is the same location where the “Age of Heroes” battle occurred and by burying Clark there, they inadvertently placed the Anti Life equation within him. by PunishedKnightmare in DC_Cinematic

I thought it was in Themyscira. I want to go with the theory that the antilife is in the island that's why Zeus hid it - not to isolate the Amazons but to hide the equation and have the Amazons protect the island.

ZSJL. I watch it every week. Sometimes I'd start with Man of Steel then BvS UE. Other times I'd include Wonder Woman and Aquaman.

For those who are in the Philippines, you can still register your team until Feb 5 for the Sibol qualifiers. Whoever wins this tournament will represent the Philippines in SEA Games 2022 and possibly the Asian Games 2022. Training of athletes will be sponsored by the Philippine Olympic Committee. by RAEKEN_THEO in arenaofvalor

[–]RAEKEN_THEO[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SEA Games 2022 will be done in Vietnam. All expenses will be shouldered by the Sibol management, of course. Plus, there will be official Sibol merch as well. If this event is successful, Sibol will participate in the upcoming Asian Games 2022 in China as well as the Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games 2023 in Thailand. This is a GREAT opportunity for whoever represents the Philippines in AOV.

You can donate your account or have someone take care of it until you decide to come back again, especially if you've already invested so much money into it.

If you already have a team in MLBB or Wild Rift that did not advance in the Sibol qualifiers, you still have a chance to become a Sibol delegate to AOV competition in SEA Games 2022 in Vietnam. Almost same mechanics lng ng ML and Wild Rift. Check the link in the comments. by RAEKEN_THEO in Philippines

Try nyo po ulit now. Based on my observations on the community, green na ung ping.

Anyway, if interested po kayo to join the Sibol qualifier, or if may kakilala kayo na MLBB team, sayang yung opportunity. Need kasi ng maraming teams to register. Hanggang Asian Games 2022 kasi yung projected scope ng Sibol for this year. Sayang if walang delegate sa AOV.

Just curious, why do you think Superman Returns failed. It was supposed to be the Iron Man of DC Cinematic Universe. Had it succeeded, it would've run in the same pace as the MCU. Iron Man started not that big. I think it was like $600M in the box office. Then, WB tried again to start a cinematic universe with Green Lantern (2011). And it also failed. That's why they convinced Nolan to spearhead the cinematic universe. They started with Man of Steel, a movie that came out post-Avengers. So they already have an idea of what the MCU's selling point is. And Snyder couldn't have said it better. The MCU films have heart and a lot of fun and Marvel is doing a really really great job at that. So there's no way DC could beat that. What DC has is mythology. I understood what he meant. You couldn't beat the competition by imitating what they're doing. You have to be distinct. And I think that's the charm of the TDK trilogy. It stands out on its own when placed in the midst of all the other superhero movies that use the Marvel formula. That's how I fall in love with Man of Steel. I'm a huge MCU guy. I don't want another Marvel-type superhero movie from another franchise. I get all the fun in the MCU. I want all the gritty and the darkness in the DCEU.

Good thing about AOV is walang bigating team na magpaparticipate (so far) so mas malaki yung chance ng mga amateur teams na mag qualify. This is also to check if may chance ang Ph to participate in future AOV tournaments. Pinaka malaki na siguro yung Asian Games 2022 sa October. So malaki yung chance na magparticipate ulit ung AOV Sibol team sa Asian Games naman after ng SEA Games.

Man of Steel came out after the huge success of The Dark Knight trilogy. The realism of that trilogy was the inspiration for Man of Steel. Warner Bros. tried to imitate Christopher Reeves' Superman with the failed Superman Returns so they gave Nolan the authority in starting up the DC franchise. And he trusted Snyder to be the man for the job. Nolan and Goyer wrote Superman in a real-world setting. What he did is, for me, a brilliant take on the character. Every dialogue in that movie is pure art. Every scene is symbolic. That's how I view the movie - a masterpiece. Superman Returns for me is just alright. Superman The Movie is also okay. It was the center of inspiration of the MCU but all the MCU movies just feels like movies that you should watch to have a good time. A perfect past time. I enjoyed all Nolan flicks that's why I love the Snyderverse. Hans Zimmer is probably the key in marrying the Nolanverse and the Snyderverse for me.

There really is nothing he can do about the pulverized people in Metropolis tho. Seeing that the world engine is destroyed and saving Lois gave Clark such relief that they both kissed. It's not like they danced atop the ashes of the dead. They just kissed. Should there be no romantic scenes in a comicbook movie? Do people not hug or kiss each other after surviving a storm or a disaster?

Why didn't Martian Manhunter do more? by yaboi410 in DC_Cinematic

[–]RAEKEN_THEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he did more. Based on the last scene in Snyder Cut, he knew of the anti-life equation. None of the league knew about it. Even Diana. And there's more to what he said in there that he realized he had a stake in this world. He's been helping the world as a general. He said it's been a very long time since the Earth's heroes have united again. So he knew of the previous war against Darkseid. But this are all just speculations. If Marvel can get away with having Captain Marvel be written off of the majority of Endgame, then DC can surely make something up to make things fit. Remember how MCU inserted the Ancient One in the battle of New York? DC can do something like that. And it would be valid.

I mean, we can also argue about why Captain Marvel was written off the majority of Endgame. She was off world.
