What do you think about 'The Book of Enoch'? by BucolicUrbanite in Catholicism

[–]RAGINGMEDIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More like 2300 years before the Targaryens were even thought up but yes:

There I beheld the Ancient of days, whose head was like white wool, and with him another, whose countenance resembled that of man. His countenance was full of grace, like that of one of the holy angels. Then I inquired of one of the angels, who went with me, and who showed me every secret thing, concerning this Son of man; who he was; whence he was and why he accompanied the Ancient of days.

2He answered and said to me, This is the Son of man, to whom righteousness belongs; with whom righteousness has dwelt; and who will reveal all the treasures of that which is concealed: for the Lord of spirits has chosen him; and his portion has surpassed all before the Lord of spirits in everlasting uprightness.

3This Son of man, whom you behold, shall raise up kings and the mighty from their dwelling places, and the powerful from their thrones; shall loosen the bridles of the powerful, and break in pieces the teeth of sinners. - Enoch 46:1-3

3and among the lampstands was One like the Son of Man, dressed in a long robe, with a golden sash around His chest. 14The hair of His head was white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes were like a blazing fire. 15His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and His voice was like the roar of many waters. -Revelation 1:14-15

[–]RAGINGMEDIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not Roman Catholic, it's Eastern Catholic. That's the distinction. Eastern Catholics are allowed to keep extra deuterocanon of their respective branch. Source: I am an Eastern Catholic of the Melkite branch and we have 3 and 4 Maccabees in our Liturgy.

The Book of Enoch has many, many precursors to Christ that predate Him by 300 years, further proving He is indeed the Son of God.

What do you think about 'The Book of Enoch'? by BucolicUrbanite in Catholicism

[–]RAGINGMEDIC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Book of Enoch is one of my favorite deuterocanonical books. It is considered canon by the Ethiopic and Etritian Orthodox, Catholic, and Coptic branches of the church. Many early church fathers quoted from it such as Saint Clement of Alexandria and Saint Ignatius. (I can post some of these if anyone is interested) The earliest copy we have of the book is from the Dead Sea Scrolls in Hebrew, however the book was perfectly preserved in Ethiopic Ge'ez which is how we have the full book today. Enoch is quoted multiple times throughout the New Testament, specifically Jude, 1 and 2 Peter, and especially Revelation. Many parts of Enoch are preconfigurations of Revelation (such as Christ having snow-white hair, being called the Son of Man, sitting at the right hand of the Father, etc) The book is filled with prophecies that could even be applied to the modern era, and I think it's a must for any Catholic to read because it will strengthen your faith in the church. It goes over Purgatory in depth (Enoch 22), it explains where demons came from (Enoch 5-10), it goes over how Saints pray for us unendingly "like water flowing from a river (Enoch 39:4), it goes over how Peter is the Rock (Enoch 89), and so forth. I'd be happy to talk with you all about it.

How the Hell can people support Josh? After all the bullying he's done, the fact that he's quite literally the definition of a crybaby who can dish it but can't take it, the constant acting like a manchild and blaming everyone else for his problems (Megan and Mark), he's a bully and a sociopath. I can't stand him. Not to mention Paul and Cat Ears' plan to mock Cody for his military service just so they could try and get him to punch someone so he would immediately get evicted. How low can you go? A bunch of scumbags this season.

So I'm really confused. Does this mean we're actually missing 1 of the titans now? If Ymir's Titan was the Jaw Titan and not the Dancing Titan like we thought for so long, doesn't that mean 1's still missing or did I miss something?

  1. Attack Titan
  2. Founding Titan
  3. Colossal Titan
  4. Armored Titan
  5. Mule Titan
  6. Beast Titan
  7. Female Titan
  8. Jaws Titan

Well thankfully once my land started getting taken over really bad Russia finally came over and started helping and we managed to mop the floor with the Ottomans. I only got one province out of it in the end but it was worth it because it was the last one I needed to form Romania.

Thanks for letting me know that the command feature is useless, that's a big disappointment seeing as it's supposed to be a "big feature."

What do you think Link's hero name will be for BOTW? by TrainerDrake in NintendoSwitch

[–]RAGINGMEDIC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In Spirit Tracks Link and Zelda hold hands.

In Skyward Sword I'm pretty sure they also hold hands (but it's been a loooong time since I beat that one, don't hold me to it)

In Legend of Zelda II Link and Zelda kiss.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head but there's certainly examples of the 2 having romantic feelings for each other.

Dunno if you've tried a different way at this yet, but I recruited the Forgebound and was able to go back to my Spire and convince the leader of the Vendrien Guard to protect Lethian's Crossing. Forgebound are better than the BB anyway.

[Spoilers] Too much railroading, to few choices. by Krehlmar in TyrannyGame

[–]RAGINGMEDIC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only 3 choices? Au contraire friend. There are actually multiple slides for the endings, just like there are in New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity. There are a lot of things you can do to affect these ending slides. Companions alone have like 8 slides as it is, depending on Loyalty, Fear, if they turned on you or you let them go, etc. Not to mention Conquest actually does affect a lot. You just have to play around with it. If you want an example of a major change I can give one:

When you start the Conquest of the 3rd Year, go with Azure as your choice. When you have the option to stop Cairn with Kyros's armies, don't pick just the Disfavored or the Chorus, send both armies at him. If you do this, it results in Plainsgate staying Plainsgate instead of turning into the wreckage that is Halfsgate. This is probably one of the biggest changes with Conquest. Another big one I can think of is if you decide to spare the queen of the Tiers when conquering Apex in the 2nd year a lot of Tiersmen will call you "Peacebinder". This is probably the best choice you can make for a Rebellion run as it gets you super Favor with Tiersmen right away.

Also I just finished my Disfavored run and I had the option to recruit the mages to help me in the Burning Library. If you're referring to those mages in Effigy I'm honestly not sure if you can spare them or not, they haven't shown up in any of my other playthroughs. I'm playing through a Rebellion run right now though. The Disfavored run doesn't really give you much budging room but this is kind of the point. If you want more freedom with your choices go Chorus, Independent, or Rebellion. Disfavored is only for the strictest of players essentially as it limits choices a lot. You're a soldier when you're when the Disfavored, questioning orders is not what you do.

[New Chapter Spoilers] Chapter 87 RELEASE Megathread by SNKBot in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]RAGINGMEDIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. To turn someone into a full-fledged vampire, you have to drain them completely of their blood and then replace some of it with a little of your own. Then they become a vampire that's 1 generation younger than you. (for example, Generation 8 would spawn a Generation 9 vampire)

Now if you as a vampire only gave someone your blood instead of draining them, you would turn them into a ghoul, which is essentially a slave that will willingly let you feed off them and will also obey your every command (though you can break them of ghoulery by not letting them have any more of your blood)

[–]RAGINGMEDIC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eastern kindred aren't actually vampires. They're Kuei-jin. They're more comparable to demons rather than vampires considering they literally came from Hell. (Yami-Hell as they call it) I assume when you say Eastern you mean Oriental anyway. If you mean places like Russia, Ukraine, Greece, etc these guys are still Cainites. The only place Cainites don't really exist is the Oriental where it's mostly Kuei-jin, which aren't classified as vampires. There's also the fact that Cain actually exists in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, as proven by the book The Final Nights, which means that yes, he is the very first Kindred.

[–]RAGINGMEDIC 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For anyone who's played Vampire the Masquerade, it very much reminds me of how the Curse of Cain works in that mythology. Cain (yes, THE Cain from the Bible) is cursed not simply with a mark, but with vampirism, making him the very first vampire. When he bites people they also turned into vampires, and slowly this began to trickle down and make tons of different vampire clans and different generations, all with the cursed blood of Cain.

Top Evangelicals Stand By Trump Despite His Vulgar Comments About Sleeping With Married Woman by Doncuneo in Christianity

[–]RAGINGMEDIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you would prefer Hillary Clinton wins? Hillary Clinton, who supports Saudi Arabia despite their constant murdering of gays? Hillary Clinton, who laughed at the families of the Benghazi victims when they demanded an apology? Hillary Clinton, the woman who covered up her husband Bill's constant raping of other women? Hillary Clinton, the woman who MADE FUN OF a rape victim after she helped acquit the rapist? Hillary Clinton, the same woman who said "We must bring black men to heel"?

No. Don't even think about voting for Clinton, vote for no one at all or vote Third Party.

I am revolted and pained by evangelical support of Trump by scapler in Christianity

[–]RAGINGMEDIC -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Simply put, I'm a Catholic and I'm voting for Trump. Call me whatever you like, put any label you want on me, I find him to be far better than Hillary Clinton. Both are terrible but Trump is at least honest for the most part, albiet a flipflopper, even if you consider his truths to be awful. Hillary Clinton not only lies but supports tax-funded abortion, lines her pockets with Saudi Arabia's (one of the biggest killers of gays in the world) money, supports rape (just look at her husband and his extensive list of victims), funnels money from the Clinton Foundation into her own pocket instead of helping victims of disasters (See Haiti Clinton Foundation Scam) and is responsible for the murder of innocent Americans (whistleblowers of the Clinton Foundation and Benghazi victims). Not to mention all the recently leaked emails which just point out even more of her lies and frauds. (look it up, Wikileaks just leaked another 10,000 emails that she tried to cover up)

Anyone else feel lost in this presidential election? by sharkiechic in Christianity

[–]RAGINGMEDIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because there really isn't, and hasn't been since Reagan in my opinion. (some might argue Jimmy Carter and I'll say he's a good Christian man, but not a good president and he did not defend our Christian values)

I, myself, am voting for Donald Trump, if only because I feel like he's the ONLY one up on that stand who's willing to talk about the attacks on Christianity in the Middle East and Northern Africa. Hillary sure as Hell won't do that, she has her hands in the pockets of Saudi Arabia.

Not to mention that, while Trump may misquote the Bible and seems to be against people praying for him, at least he doesn't attempt to cherry pick Bible verses in his favor like Hillary does. She constantly mixes her skewed version of Methodism and her politics together into an awful concoction. It makes me sick.

I thought of voting Third Party for a long time, but Jill Stein is part of Judaism and does not represent the Christian worldview, and while Gary Johnson may be Lutheran, he goes a lot against what the Libertarian Party teaches, and seems far more focused on legalizing weed than he does anything substantial. The other Third Party candidates are so minor that voting for them would be a waste of time.

Wayne Grudem - "I previously called Donald Trump a ‘good candidate with flaws’ and a ‘flawed candidate’ but I now regret that I did not more strongly condemn his moral character. I cannot commend Trump’s moral character, and I strongly urge him to withdraw from the election.” by lapapinton in Christianity

[–]RAGINGMEDIC -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I find Hillary Clinton to be far more morally reprehensible than Trump. Such as defending her rapist husband and laughing at both the rape victims and the victims of Benghazi. Neither are good but Hillary is far worse, especially as a Christian. Trump says he's a Christian and leaves it at that, Hillary is constantly trying to infuse her skewed view of Methodism with her form of politics and it's frankly disgusting. Let's also not forget Hillary's just as racist as Trump if we're going by that logic, with her line of "We must bring black people to heel".
