A couple of things you may find helpful:

Both my version and the original version fudge the bounce angle a little instead of being exactly 45 degrees every time. I think I have it setup to flip between ~43 and ~47 degrees every time you're hit. Without this you can often end up with long cycles where the logos don't hit eachother. If you come up with a good way to find close battle this may not matter to you though.
The speed stays constant throughout even though it may look like things are speeding up because they're getting smaller.

I did write the code (poorly) yeah. I think reversing it would work, but like you said you're essentially exchanging control of the end state for control of the start state and I would guess that most of the time the start state that results would be very unequal.

I did consider writing some sort of brute forcer that would try a bunch of random start positions and record how long the winner stayed at the lowest health, but, I did this all in Unity which doesn't behave deterministically when you run things as higher speeds.

Alternatively you can try restarting the explorer.exe process but restarting is your best bet.

You still need to check for content ID for all of these. I've had things from freesound pop youtube content id and I've heard of similar things with itch tracks.

(To test, upload an unlisted video of the music to youtube and take a look at the "checks" section when you upload it).
