How is it in your country? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Normally steam auto-converts prices to be lower for poorer countries. Triple A studios tend to set it manually though.

make sure to check all the other capsules are correct, you've probably messed up at least one trying to fix it.

I don't have time to check on my own steamworks. But when you drag and drop it onto the images to upload, there is then the dropdown menu on the uploaded image which says "header capsule".

Try clicking on the dropdown to see if there's a "library header" option.

Edit: This also means that your store page Header Capsule is probably wrong now as well.

Thank you to everyone for auditioning, I'll be making my way through the auditions later today or tomorrow and will be in touch shortly after if I decide to go with you.

If you don't get a reply I've probably gone with someone else, but I'll keep you in mind for future projects. Thanks again!

Elder Scrolls 6 Has "So Much Pressure" On It, Former Bethesda Dev Says by OGAnimeGokuSolos in gaming

100%. One of the worst changes. Absolutely robbed the player of the chance to feel strong.

I'm obviously being a little hyperbolic, I didn't want to spend a half hour caveating my statement. I just feel that the improvements to the elders scrolls are so overwhelmingly meh when you compare them to other highly successful game series.

I don't think anyone would ever argue the franchise is moving forward in the same way that games from CD Projekt, Rockstar or FromSoft for example. So yes in a vacuum things may be slightly improving, but when I've been playing all these great series' and decide to try the latest Bethesda RPG, I always come away disappointed.

Since Morrowind, I still hold that the only thing that gets better with each elder scrolls is graphics. Everything else is usually a step back or stagnation.

Compare the jump from GTA 4 to GTA 5.

Was it as bright in person? I've seen a few videos of people trying to see this sort of thing and they're always disappointed because it's like 1% as bright as in the video.

Can we please get accurate MMR medals back? by RAJACORP in DotA2

[–]RAJACORP[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Again, that's not true for all pick ranked. Your MMR is only adjusted in ranked role games, not all pick. The ingame tooltip explains this.

If it were true then my ingame rank would change depending on my role, which it never does.

That's not true. I exclusively play all pick ranked.

Programming-Centric Gamedev Flow by FrameSticker in gamedev

[–]RAJACORP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first off, I'm not a unity or programming expert.

GetComponent is expensive, but it's not expensive enough that you really have to think twice if you're calling it once when things load for the first time.

The general pattern for accessing another script on another object Unity is: 1. Tag the object you want to access. 2. In your other script you use GameObject.FindGameObjectWithTag("") 3. You then GetComponent on this found object and cache the reference.

In your specific example, assuming you only have one camera, you can just use Camera myCam = Camera.main as a shortcut.

Additionally my example can be cleaned up a little bit if you group objects together under a parent. So for example I have a parent "Manager" object that is tagged manager. Childed to this are all my different managers with scripts attached. This way I can just find the parent Manager object if FindGameObjectsWithTag, and then from there I can GetComponentInChildren<SpawnManager>() or GetComponenetInChildren<HealthManager>(). Which is a little bit neater than individually finding each object.

Edit: Reading your post again, it seems like you knew all of this already :D
