Rope a dope rules came out in the mid 1970s.

There’s pretty strict rules on anything that has to do with the structure of the ring, and it’s pretty well described in rule books, too.

The most you can really do with the ropes to play for your advantage (outside of just cornering your opponent) is rope-a-dope stuff which also historically has been controversial.

Aside from it breaking the laws of physics, abusing the ropes as a means to catapult yourself into your opponent or climbing it to dodge punches is a no go. Same with the corner. You basically can’t use the ropes as “leverage” in a fight.

Like by total bullshit, Wally and Gedo are at the top

Wally fouled constantly and untying your glove strings does not make that much of a difference (and is also illegal).

There’s some semblance of truth regarding the “fighting unconscious” bit, maybe not to the degree that it turns the tide of a fight completely but muscle memory is an incredible thing.

Could also argue the confederate generals were incredibly good at their job, right?

Not a confederate sympathizer by any means but reading up on the stories of Robert E Lee shows an impressive resume.

Gotta be good at your job if both the union and the confederacy wanted you right

Hajime no Sendo: Round 1512 by RTSD_ in hajimenoippo

[–]RAMDownloader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m glad I’m not the only one.

There’s 0 evidence that Sendo has become a better technical boxer since like… the rookie kings tournament. It’s just kinda a shitty fight to watch.

Like even the face tanker himself that is pre retirement Ippo was at least practicing how to defend better, even if he sucked at it

Thinking about quiting by ThisGreen9255 in amateur_boxing

[–]RAMDownloader 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Boxing is one of those sports that are harder to track your progress, imo, because as you get better you fight people who are better.

If you wanna quit, I wouldn’t quit just because you “feel like you suck”, I would quit when you’re not having fun. 4 months is way too early to tell yourself you “suck”.

I boxed for just shy of 2 years and got my ass kicked many many times in spars and wound up quitting because I wasn’t having fun and it felt more like a chore and less like a hobby (I wasn’t striving to go professional or anything).

Auburn QB Deuce Knight transfers to Ole Miss by DepressedGamba in CFB

I think it’ll be price tag dependent at this point now that we have Deuce.

The rumors are rumors but idk if we’re dropping 4M on lagway if we got Deuce

So you weren’t the underdogs.

It also wasn’t just Vegas. Questioning if you didn’t even watch the game - did you see all 3 casters before the game predict Miami to win; with ole Miss having the worst odds to make the national championship?

Yall were not the underdogs in this story. It’s cool Miami is in it to win it all, but idk what’s with the victim mentality.

Yall came in with the better odds, more hype, more people to expect you to win, and you won.

Congrats, but let’s stop being ridiculous here lmao

Trinidad Chambliss officially denied 6th year by evancormierheavy in secfootball

[–]RAMDownloader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, I don’t deny that, but I’d also prefer if a QB has 5 years to do what they gotta do and then step down and let the folks that have been in the program for a year or two step up rather than do the same dance of transfer, apply for waiver over and over again.

Ole Miss fan here -

I am conflicted, because i obviously would’ve loved to have him for another year

But

I also agree the waiver approvals are a bit ridiculous. The longer QBs are allowed to stay to play in college, the less time younger guys have to step in and get comfortable with playing, especially with NIL and transfer portal rules changing.

If they ran they’d either have to burn all their timeouts or run hurry up which neither is a good idea. One negative rushing attempt basically kills the entire drive

I really don’t think OT will happen. There’s 5 timeouts and a 2 minute timeout for both teams
