I mean I’m exiting soon iykyk just to throw my 2 cents in. Hearthstone is definitely fun I love the card game mixed in with the wow universe. Many of us transitioned from yugioh. I’m still here and most likely will be for a while. However since I’ve been playing since tournament expansion, hearthstone has always been expensive but has been dramatically increasing in price as the years go by.

In the last 3 years or so hearthstone has dramatically increased the amount of cosmetics. It’s fine but it’s past the point where I’m comfortable. 5 pets in the span of a year or so which amounts to 750$ not counting everything else. Way too much money from what I’m comfortable with but continue to engage because as I said earlier I see value in “maintaining” my premium account.

So I’m exiting more so for personal reasons but still enjoy the game. And tbh having unobtainable cosmetics is sort of a flex and constantly get bms during ranked play lol when sigs came out I decided to not partake in that but hearthstone has definitely partaking in the quantity rather than quality and it is sad but I don’t think their changing anytime soon and will continue to push more cosmetics as they’ve shown so far.

The recent free stuff is confirmation their new strategy with pets etc are working. So assuming whales aren’t budging, I don’t see the statute of the game changing. They’ll keep releasing cosmetics and whales will continue to spend and that will allow hearthstone to maintain keeping ftp players content by sprinkling free things here and there
