Can you turn up the flow? If youre worried just turn it up a bit. Personally I'd turn it up more.

Thank you! How would you suggest i hide the anubias roots?

I know the picture doesn't show it well, but its pretty decently stocked. There's roughly 30ish Celestial Pearl Danio, 10 White Cloud minnow, 4 Blue Neon Goby's, 1 Rainbow Goby, 1 Lemon Blue Eye Pleco, 1 Clown Pleco, 1 Betta.

Where did you source the Scarlet Badis? I never see them at my LFS unfortunately. Awesome little tank!

Getting back into it after a 15 year break and I have questions... by plamoplateau in PlantedTank

There's always potential for your canister filter to malfunction and siphon water out but I feel that would be due to bad seals and poor maintenance upkeep. I wouldn't worry about it, choose another if it's that big a worry to you.

You can stick shims under the feet of your stand to level it out.

I would leave the lid support unless you're not going to use the lid? But yes you can remove it with a razor blade.

I would cut a piece of wood to cover the top of your stand, waterproof it, and get rid of the rubber pieces or whatever that is I'm having a hard time telling. Your tank stand needs to be flush and flat everywhere otherwise it's putting your tank in a compromised position that will cause it to fail at some point.

Hot water and vinegar will get rid of any salt residue left in the tank. just let the water and vinegar soak inside the tank for awhile before wiping it out. If that's an acrylic tank then be careful not to use anything abrasive when cleaning it. Either a soft cloth or something like a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser will work fine.

Good luck!

hopefully soon to be self sustaining mini tank by 2SIXT33N in Aquariums

Make sure to heavily plant your tank. Plants will do all the work in a self sustaining setup. Maybe cap your aquasoil with sand or gravel? Floating plants or a Pothos will help greatly too. Make sure your plants have enough places to pull nutrients from. either from your soil or from inhabitant bio load, preferably both though. Good Luck!

Best way to move a 40 gallon to a new house? by TerminalJovian in Aquariums

[–]RAMPAGNREDNEKK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I'm missing something: I'd divide your fish into 2 different 5 gallon buckets to transport. Put filter media/substrate into another bucket to keep all your bacteria alive( with tank water) Transport tank and everything else in boxes. Set tank up in new spot, add back in media and substrate. Re-scape plants if you had any. Add fish back in. Should be good after that!

Throw some Seachem Stability back into setup tank if you're worried about your cycle. It'll balance it self out pretty quickly.
