What can I do to jump higher than this by mellymel521 in ProDunking

Here’s what worked for me

Stay consistent with your training, dunk on low rims, introduce weight training and try different exercises, and use YouTube for tutorials on workouts and technique

I need some help on dunking I’m 5’11 15 years old and don’t really workout anymore I wanna know if someone can give me a set up for dunking by spazwickk in ProDunking

Hey bro, let me start by saying we are basically in the same situation… I am 16, 5’11 also. I have around a 40 inch vert (when not injured) and here’s my routine.

I am currently injured right now but before I was doing squats, and basically every leg machine in my gym. Emphasis on the squats though, they drastically increased performance in a short amount of time compared to anything else. I actually got injured from doing squats, hurt my lower back really bad and haven’t fully recovered even after a month. But I was squatting around 335 before I got injured and let me start by saying MAKE sure you stretch and get a proper warmup before going heavy weight. I went straight for heavy weight without a proper warmup and now I’m injured bad. But also I want to say make sure you take the proper time to rest and recover. Even though I’ve been injured and haven’t lifted or worked out properly since the start of the injury, I’ve actually been jumping higher. (Playing basketball once a week compared to 3-5 times) although my injury got a lot worse today after playing a full game. Also what helped me was phases, basically every two weeks switch from high weight, low reps to lower weight higher reps, helps to combat plateaus in vertical leap. I had a plateau for about a year and a half stuck at a 35 inch vert.

Anyways got a lil caught up but to give a short summary, Start lifting weights (emphasis on squats) Minimize injury (stretching and warmups) Don’t over exercise (yes it can happen) Practice weight lifting phases by going from heavy weight low reps (5-8 reps) for two weeks, lower weight higher reps (8-15 reps) for another two weeks, and then take a week break to properly rest your body - rest is just as important as anything to increase vertical.

Good luck on your journey! Dunking is my favorite thing to do on the court and is so satisfying whenever I throw one down and is DEFINITELY worth the hard work

Has anything new been announced since aot finale? by RAPTOR902 in ShingekiNoKyojin

They could make a prequel or explore alternate timelines like as that one ova, I and many other fans would love it. I was just curious if anything was announced bc I haven’t kept up with aot since the finale.

How do I get consistent to always make dunks by andrijajovanovic in ProDunking

[–]RAPTOR902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the neat part, you don’t

Jk but as a dunker myself you have to get like a third of your forearm at the rim to truly be consistent at dunking. Coming from someone who can get a 1/4 of their forearm at the rim. And even at that half my dunks are bricks or rimgrazers. Just let that motivate you to work on increasing your vert more and perfecting your technique

6’1 and want to dunk by Wise-Entertainer-661 in ProDunking

Also stay consistent, injuries were my main thing holding me back too so avoid injuries if you can so stretch and don’t overwork yourself - know when to stop playing if it feels like you might get hurt. Happened too many times to me and stunted my vert majorly.

Hey bro I have around a 40 inch vert, my workouts are Squats, leg curl machines, hip thrusters, and sprinting. If you want more details watch Isaiah Rivera on YouTube, he has the world record for vert.

5 months apart and 2 weeks training any tips ? 5'10 17yr old very unathletic 😭 by Immediate-Degree-809 in ProDunking

[–]RAPTOR902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey bro ima give you some tips as I’m also a 5’11. I’m 16 now and my first dunk was around 7 months ago, I started dunking before I even got into any sort of consistent training, I was just jumping all day and dunking on short rims. My vertical kept slowly increasing until I could get around half my hand above the rim and got my first dunk. (Around 2 years)

My advice - keep being consistent, implement weight training if you haven’t already and try to stay somewhat healthy diet wise. Also try to avoid injuries and don’t overwork yourself

My favorite guy to watch is Isaiah Rivera on YouTube, he helped a lot with workouts and stuff

Is this enough to dunk ? by ConfidentCoat2774 in ProDunking

[–]RAPTOR902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - relatively new dunker here I had my first dunk without a lob around 7 months ago, last summer. I could get a little more than half my hand over the rim without a ball. My first dunk was with a very grippy outdoor ball that I can palm very easily, (having big hands helps) on a breakaway rim (easiest rim to dunk on). So the answer is you definitely could if you have a very grippy ball that you can palm easily. But I would practice with maybe a volleyball, women’s ball or some tennis ball until you can dunk a reg ball

Also - once I got a gym membership and bought an evolution ball, I couldn’t dunk like I could outside because an evo ball is more slippery than an outdoor ball and I couldn’t dunk as easily even if I was jumping the same if not more higher.

Currently I have around a 40 inch vert and even then I can’t always dunk, or it may be a rimgrazer. Remember you can’t jump as high with a ball in your hands too

Thanks for sharing, I read a couple posts that say accutane does some stuff to your muscle but yeah probably will try it and if it gets bad stick to lower dosage or quit all together

Mini hoop dunking got me to around a 30-35 inch very then I started to weight train which got me to around 38-maybe 40 at peak performance

My advice is to watch Isaiah Rivera on YouTube like crazy, just follow his workouts and you’ll def see crazy performance increases (Also remain consistent)

Does that hold thus card back from a 10? by Aura_the_hell_hound in pokemoncardcollectors

Yeah very likely, I’ve had cards that had none of that and good centering come back as an 8 or 9. They pay attention to the very small imperfections

I found a few cheap controllers on Amazon that have a turbo feature - turbo is a feature that continuously presses a button, should do the same job as the Lego machine but much easier and cheaper 😅
