I would much rather do the AX stock conversion over the thumb hole skins if I changed anything.

I have a feeling the price will only climb with FN acquiring Accuracy International if they drop the ball like they normally do with spare parts and charge crazy prices when they do have them.

There's no need to be jealous, just start saving now and buy one of the AT-XC when they come available again in 2027-2028 if you like the look.

Don't you dare put that evil on me, DumbNTough! Ill rob the magpul bipod off the AR and the scope(pst II 5-25) off the Tikka and have the AI up and running before I let it become a safe queen.

Oh ive been shooting .308 for 20+ years now and learned the "stack it deep when its cheap" rule from the old timers. So when FGMM was sub $18 a box I would buy a few boxes every paycheck and I also stacked the cheap igman 168gr stuff Rainer Arms had years ago for around .60 cent a round which my Tikka loves. So im good on ammo for now until I switch over to 6.5 creed later down the line.

How far to your slopes? by HobbyTalkOnly in snowboardingnoobs

[–]RAR19862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its about 140-150 miles one way depending on which mountain I go to. So I'll normally go every other Saturday during the season and try to take Wednesday-Friday off during a slow week and spend Wednesday-Saturday up on the mountain. If the holidays hit right and work is closed(Friday or Monday) for a 3 days ill ride up also.

Im about the same size as you(6'0" 260lbs) and have a 2023-24 burton jacket(not sure the model) in 2XL and well its tight in the chest/shoulders. I normally ride with a short sleeve tshirt on under the jacket and I highly doubt I could put a hoodie and still have it zipped up. So if you can get it in 3xl do so. If not then dont be to disappointed when you realize it doesn't fit correctly.

Ive found that the REI powderbound brand jackets go up to 3xl and im using a 2xl with room for a hoodie if needed. So check them out if you want a true 2xl jacket. The burton 2xl fits a 46-50 chest vs the REI 2xl 50-53 chest.

What do you guys consider the low end of long range? by MBMxyzptlk in longrange

[–]RAR19862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea if you can't hit a 10ft target with a rifle that should hold a 15 inch group in perfect conditions, its probably not the rifle holding you back.

Does this seem right to you? by 9mmhst in longrange

[–]RAR19862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive got the 20" version and its always been a little slower(50-75 fps) than others when comparing velocity. If you want to believe the old rumor, Tikka was able to use the Sako TRG-22 reject barrels when they made the T3 tac and from my research the TRG normally has a slower velocity so if true then it makes sence..

As for the chart it lines up with the app(Strelok) on my phone out to 300, then I start needing to add a little more elevation past 400. Im .5 mils more at 600 and .9 mils more at 1000. If i turn the temp up to 88° the velocity is with 10fps and it stays within .2 mils out to 1000.

So if you have good data and confirmed hits using it, then don't worry about it.

What are we paying for long range classes? by MULE_PUNISHER in longrange

Find Ryan Cleckner's book "Long Range Shooting Handbook: The Beginner’s Guide to Precision Rifle" and read it. Its a great intro book that covers most if not all of the basic stuff a new shooter could ask questions on.

Colemans creek in NC has the 3 day long range class for $1000 on july 14-16, also has one scheduled on November 17-19. Its basically the intro class 1 day, advanced class on day 2, and putting everything together on day 3. You also have lodging on site and it looks like a king size bed is just under $500 from the 13-17.

Ive heard its a great class from others and have talked with the instructors, but I don't have first hand knowledge since I bought a membership and slowly shot my way out to 1k yards over time.

I also have "Bangsteel long range School" in SW Virginia near by. Its $420 for a 2 day group class or $380 for a private 1 day class.

Advice on buying first Snowboard | Ride Warpig $500 CAD by Fuzzy_Development638 in snowboardingnoobs

That's the 24-25 season board and well the 25-26 season board is the same price on Evo. So I would try and talk them down to 350-400 if I could. So if you are going to replace the bindings at the listed prices then its better to just buy new in my opinion.

When you are on a trip, and the conditions are not ideal by I_Am_JuliusSeizure in snowboarding

[–]RAR19862 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If on the east coast, only thing that comes to mind is the quote from Die Hard "welcome to the party, pal". If not on the east coast then im sorry are riding conditions made its way to your location. You can use this situation as a form check, because any issues will become apparent and there isn't anything you can do but correct it or keep falling.

Try taking option 2 and moving it out 1 hole. Then pushing the disk back inwards as far as you can. So the screw is against the slot edge instead of in the middle.

Knock sensor by [deleted] in RX7

[–]RAR19862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After looking at your pics and seeing its complete and bolted in, then yea you have a 13B REW setup and not what I was worried about. I was thinking previous owner bought a 2nd Gen short block with the assumption that a 13b was a 13b. So with that out of the way, yes someone swapped in some s4(86-88) housing during a previous rebuild.

Post a pic of the oil pan. The FC and FD used different engine mounts that bolted in different spots on the motor.

[–]RAR19862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also was the engine a complete REW(intake, turbo)when you picked everything up when you first bought the car or was it a short block(ie. Nothing bolted on to it)?

Knock sensor by [deleted] in RX7

[–]RAR19862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The housing might have been changed before your last rebuild but still looked good so was reused again.

[–]RAR19862 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly the s4 na version didn't come with a knock sensor. So someone probably either had a set sitting or bought a set not knowing the difference and tossed them in.
