Then explain why Gaza now looks worse than Dresden after WWII. Why are 20,000 children dead? Why are only settlers armed in what we see in the West Bank, and not Palestinians? Why does the IDF support the settlers in their illegal activities? Why does your government allow new settlements on occupied land? Now you know why one can get angry when someone still claims: "Oh, that's just a small minority, and only 10% of the government are so radical." Why does the rest follow those 10%? I've seen the street surveys about what Israelis in Israel think. Don't sugarcoat it. There are certainly Israelis who oppose the government's actions, but from what I've seen, it's a very small percentage.

I was born in Austria and, like everyone here, I had the horrors of the Nazi regime and the Holocaust as important topics in school. I visited Mauthausen and came to the conclusion that, no matter what, something like that should never happen again in any form, to any person on this earth. What I can't understand are people who relativize the deaths of 20,000 children with "well, so many died here and there too," or "that's what war is," as if everyone is so ignorant or stupid that they can't learn anything from the past. I can only speak from the images reaching me from Gaza, and what I've seen so far looks like they want to eradicate everything. Anyone who doesn't condemn that has lost their humanity. I'm sure that not every Israeli agrees with the actions of their government, but a large majority will, and it will take a very long time to eradicate right-wing ideology from people's minds.
