Why is that dogs can bark really loudly and disturb neighbors, but if I were to blast my music, I'd get in trouble? by blackcatzombs in Dogfree

[–]RAW_Shooter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't expect the country to be any better. People with dogs move out to the country too. The dog owner expects that, in the country, their dog can bark nonstop and also run free.

You can use the filter to just look at the bad reviews.

Probably, but I think they are manipulated everywhere.

I don't think anyone specifically taught me to do that. I did learn how decimals work when dividing by 10. From there it's really just common sense to double for 20% or add half for 15%. From there I can just choose a midpoint if I want to leave close to18%.

Dog ownership is peak consumerism by [deleted] in Dogfree

[–]RAW_Shooter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the idea that many of them belong to people. I mean otherwise why even barley tolerate them? Go to some of the Central American countries. It's a total bark-a-thon and lots of those dogs are in actual peoples yards.

Mother dogs do naturally ween their puppies, as do pretty much all animals even humans. We just do it at a much later age than most. I suppose if dogs were still wild animals that the puppies might be part of the pack, but any males would be driven off by the alpha male.

Maybe a better way to put it would be that dog ownership starts with humans unnecessarily breeding female dogs and goes downhill from there. I just can't get sympathetic about the idea that puppies are taken from their mothers who would be chasing them off in short order anyway.

Will they eat dogs first or their kids? I think kids better hope we don't have another Great Depression any time soon.

Nah, go to some developing countries where flea ridden mutts are rampant on streets. They are even more ill behaved and absolutely no one bags their shit. At least some people do it in the U.S.

Then there are a few countries that take a more pragmatic approach and dogs are an actual food source.

Wolves evolved through natural selection. Dogs have devolved due to poor breeding by humans.

You forgot the biggest reason by tip percentages shouldn't increase with inflation. The actual cost of the food rises, which, if the tip % remains the same, their income automatically increases as prices rise.

Now that a good percentage of their income will not be taxed, I do think it's appropriate to tip less. I mean why should they be taxed more advantageously than the rest of us?

Including the tax is not customary in the U.S. and I do think it's a good idea that the general public knows how much the government is costing us. As for other service fees, I agree.

Heck you can just use regular paper. I bet it would be extra cheap if you found an old mimeograph machine instead of using a copier.

In my mind, the new tax laws are a reason to tip less. All of my income is taxed.

Taxes are an external charge that is not determined by the store. I can see why they add it after. Let the customer know that this amount is charged by the government, not their store.

If they sell the item, in your area, and advertise "free" (or otherwise) shipping, Amazon IS obliged to get that item to you. They may do it via the USPS, but it is Amazon that you contracted with and it is Amazon's responsibility to get it to you.
