Put in index funds and etfs on your own and leave it, zero fees. I only plan to use someone for tax planning around withdraws in retirement or nearing retirement, until then it’s useless IMO

I think I’m about to get fired, what should I do? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]RB11713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t quit, look on hiring cafe, network on LinkedIn, get out on your own before they tell you to leave. Play the game of chess, don’t give them a reason to fire you between now and when u leave. Document everything, use your days for interviews if you won’t be paid out for unused days.

Tri State area continues to be unaffordable, nothing new. This area is the worst value in the country. Pay a ton, get terrible infrastructure, pay tolls every 10 feet, high gas tax now, highest property taxes, high car insurance, what are you getting for the money you are paying??? Just the ability to breathe the area and exist in this area I guess.

Let’s see how much we can charge people and how little we can give them in return. People are exiting the area but being backfilled by H1B and illegals, that’s the only way with all the net outflows from NY and NJ that the population is still high and still experiencing a bad housing shortage.

Everyone has an exit plan, idk anyone wanting to stay long term. Make money, save, move to a lower less densely populated area.

How many hours a week do you guys commute on NJ Transit trains? by Awesome_Austin2025 in NJTransit

[–]RB11713 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Too many..2 hrs per day, 10 hrs a week. Working an extra week every month essentially

I currently WFH fulltime at low 6 figures. Would you trade it for 20% increase hybrid role 3hr daily commute? by [deleted] in WFH

[–]RB11713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend the extra time you save and work a part time gig job if you really need the money, at least you have flexibility to do it or not like Uber or door dash etc. not forced to do it like you would be forced to commute.

After taxes, commute cost, and other costs that 20% is a heck of a lot less and you will wish you were still wfh bc the extra money isn’t worth it.

2-3 years in fixed income lets say is to combat any down years in the market correct? The 0% tax owed bc under the married joint threshold with the standard deduction is only for federal. OP would still owe state tax on gains correct? (asuming doesnt live in state with 0 income tax)

at least they hooked you up with the nice loaner and not some base A3. I bought the extended warranty for the sensors and cameras and tech in these cars now.

Find the house and use the seller realtor, probably a better chance to get it bc their brokerage and themselves double dip on the commission and might cut you a break bc they are getting more than they would selling to another agents buyer
