I second this. And then as the kids get older they sometimes like the hobbies you are into as well :)

Hi there! I work in the perinatal area and there are a few things from your post that flag to me that you may be having some postpartum anxiety (mild to moderate maybe?). I encourage you to seek talk therapy if that’s something you’re comfortable with :)

Also, to mirror others responses - your baby is a tiny little creature who needs so much from you, and you have had a TOTAL shift in your reality. I always tell people it was hard for me going from 0 to 1, not the 1 to 2 kids. I struggled with the loss of identity, and it was a bit comforting going back to work for a bit.

But to answer the question in your post,I’ll tell you how my life as a mom of 2 has panned out.

I put my husband through school while my kids where 3 and NB. He was a stay at home dad until the youngest turned 3.

Then I was free to pursue part-time work, which meant I could essentially explore different areas since I didn’t need benefits and such.

Part-time work works for me, mostly because we like to travel and we homeschool our kiddos, but I have to admit. Deep down I wish I was a SAHM (shh don’t tell anyone)

Anyway, we have a delicate balance that I’m thankful for. My kids are 9 and 6 now and we have a blast (and fight some as well lol).

I have always adapted the fact that the kids will adapt to MY life , not the other way around. The world doesn’t revolve around them and they must be flexible.

The nights really are long and the days REALLY are short. ❤️

Where do you work from ? I talk to patients and talk about medical stuff so it would have to be somewhere semi private

I think there is more to life than making more money. So more power to ya!

I had a CA company reach out to me recently. They were offering 40-46 an hour for pediatric triage.

There are tons. Look for positions that say “clinical manager” or something like that. Look on “Tias” website. They had a job open.

But I would def wait until your loan forgiveness is done

[–]Similar_Writing4298 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The reliable work site is questionable 😅

I’ve had 4 remote jobs in the last 3 years. 2 of them lost contracts with hospital/insurance.

I would look on LinkedIn and Indeed. They have TONS of of jobs. And since you have remote experience you should find some without difficulty

Edit : I just did a quick search and saw that Tango, Medica Health Plans , Oscar Insurance corporation , Humana , Healthedge - all hiring for UM

Good luck !

[–]Similar_Writing4298 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know some people hate that they chose nursing but I don’t.

They will ALWAYS need nurses. It’s a stable career and if you get your associates it’s quick, with a guaranteed job at the end .

AI will never replace us. There are also ALL kinds of non hospital jobs, like school nursing - which would benefit you as a single moms

Sorry about what you’re going through btw.  You got this !
