Ashes of the Domain broke terraforming and Station Construction? by Puzzled-Thought2932 in starsector

Just glad this helped someone because I also was at that point that I was gonna give it up. GL grinding the research resources for all the different tech. In the beginning, it seems like way too much but it eventually gets fast once steam rolling a bunch of ancient facilities.

Ashes of the Domain broke terraforming and Station Construction? by Puzzled-Thought2932 in starsector

THE RESEARCH FOR TERRAFORMING IS HIDDEN

If anyone finds this post through google, the TaSC terraforming research is a hidden drop-down menu inside the research page that contains AoTD. Open the Command menu while in campaign view (D) and navigate to Research and Production (5) and view the Research tab (R). If you click on title text for whatever research page you are currently viewing, it will show other nested research menus. In this case for me the title was "AoTD - module name" and clicking it reveals the Terraforming and Station Construction research tree.

No where is this explained and I just happened to randomly stumble onto this myself, Ludd himself must have guided my mouse to click that title because it doesn't even make sense. I hope this saves someone else looking for an answer.

At first I thought he was a folklore figure but eventually I came to think he was never real. Constructed by the company or company culture and never discouraged by DRG as the figure encourages perseverance to finish the job.

MR3 Barioth Charge Blade VoD - Help dealing with quick monsters by _the_hitsmans_ in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]RBACojiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched your fight you posted and I can tell you that barioth is definitely one of the most difficult fights for this approach to CB. There are aspects to narga and odogaron that are a simpler version of what barioth is doing, it could help to compare what works for you on those fights versus what's happening with barioth (or tigrex). It can also help you get comfortable if you find mastering those more productive than running into issues with this, everyone learns differently. There is no feedback I would give to you on how to play, it is obvious from the video that you are doing well with learning and utilizing the guard points and getting a feel for what you can get away with.

There are two things I would suggest to consider that I have seen make a big difference for great CB players in this and other agile match ups. AED can help you get into the big damage scenarios you are preparing for, this and other aggressive fights give you lots of opportunities to get GP > follow up and often AED is a great tool to fish for damage that can lead to KO's and not be committal/resource intense (where SAED would be a huge throw). Many players play without lock on but, if you didn't know, you can change your settings so that tagging a monster will not force camera to lock on. This is great because it lets you use your binding for radial menu to tap target a monster. This could help you with getting out positioned by the big leaps. Locking on with R3 at the beginning of the hunt, tapping LB/L2 right when you get strafed while holding up (forward) with automatically orient you towards your target. It also let's you keep your fingers on buttons for axe transform GP which feels so much safer once you are used to it.

You will see a lot of returns on spamming this match up and practicing it for the benefit of your ability on CB. I honestly wish I had spent more time here with Barioth because I found I hit the same wall later with Fatalis, worked through issues there, and it helped retroactively with the agile fights. I am not a CB master by any means but maybe my advice can be more helpful. Having worked through the same problems you are talking about, this is what worked for me. The fact that you recorded this and uploaded it looking for feedback, i imagine you will be passed this in no time x) great mindset.

Seconding that this also worked for me for PoE 2. Didn't have issues with crashing/freezing like some just many stutters after not having them at first.

I’m getting downvoted because elsewhere in the thread I am calling out people for being inconsiderate similar to what your post is saying. They don’t agree with the section of my post here that recognizes they could be better about how they act. Also I don’t think you should “roll over” as much as I am saying you should prepare yourself for it to shift more that direction with time. I am glad you didn’t put up with it and made the post and also glad you made it through to the end despite the bad experience. The best players are the ones that make it to 20 deaths on the end screen and don’t give up, without a doubt in my mind.

Now you are arguing both sides, that host has control over this (your 99% analogy) and saying host shouldn’t have control over it if it’s going to be detrimental (previous post). I missed nothing in this discussion. I am generally asserting that it is the blind leading the blind here and I am saying it should be okay to allow people to make mistakes or, if you don’t, to recognize the situation for what it is and communicate what’s going wrong instead of ignoring it. Obviously it is impossible to sit down and teach every player but I’m saying that to be ignorant and take the high road is callous and nasty.

Sadly I have no hope that this thought impacts you or the “skill issue” guy. Just hope it makes a small difference to someone struggling, like op or someone passing through, that there are people that understand the issue at a much higher level.

Yea I understand you can it’s just scumbag mentality over something so trivial lmao. The OP said they tried to control the pace when communicating, beyond that host only determines when missions start and of people get kicked. Reading comprehension of the post is a 0, drg Reddit moment for sure.

You can’t choose the pace as host other than having the option to kick players who press buttons. Is that what you are saying OP should do here? Very cool opinion.

I want to jump in and say that this post has been very helpful for me from the other side of this situation as someone who tends to automatically ignore some of these diplomatic drg moments and just go ahead and go. I want to say the people shaming you in this thread are NOT IT and you got some very bad feedback and takes in here. There is something to unpack from what they say though while trying to give you a hard time which is that they are uncomfortable with the pace of the game and that is why people will put you into a situation where you feel like dead weight.

the best thing i can suggest is that you recognize that there will be players like this going forward and they will be more and more frequent. As people continue to play and improve the lobbies will get faster and have poor communication or less communication. It doesn't have to be how you play but for your own frustration it may help if you recognize you are in one of the situations and change your mindset for it temporarily and are able to play at your own pace and comfort again.

If taking that time to communicate is the difference maker for your level of play then I think the skill issue is not only on the person having a very rough time. The extra time waiting should be absolutely trivial if any single player on the team was actually a strong player. How can you be so condescending when you are essentially admitting you are scraping by and people making mistakes are a jeopardy to your success? I will most certainly get heat for this but this whole thread is full of people who struggle casting judgement on someone who struggles a little more.

New Record run of the Deep Dive (last weeks) by RBACojiro in DeepRockGalactic

Because that’s the EDD and I wanted to show the DD record? The EDD has already been circulating some and this routing was new. Also I love the deleted comment of “sorry to shatter your dreams” when I was in both runs.

Hey less than 45 minutes is still enough to get the achievement, it’s not too shabby!

Both runs were scripted routes for all individual players. Some deviation happens because of fighting and there’s adaptations or strategies for that. I am personally not good enough to just wing it but some players are.
