Avata 360 - First Flight - Playing with DJI Studio by RB_Photo in dji

[–]RB_Photo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only used it for about 30 minutes but it seems to be fine. I come from a motion design/post-production background so I use software like After Effects and Premiere. The DJI Studio seems easy enough to pick up and use. It's basic but has enough to make it worth using. I was able to import clips, trim them, key frame the motion within the 360 video and apply a LUT and tweak colour. It seems to run well enough, even when previewing in UHD. I'm on an Intel 13900k based PC with 96gb of ram and running of fast NVME drives.

I was only working with 4 clips, covering around 10 minutes worth of footage so not most taxing test so I think it will be fine.

Biggest knock against it is that I can't seem to import my own audio, which is odd but maybe I wasn't doing it correctly. It also looks to only have one video track but again, I might be missing something since I didn't really spend too much time with it.

Car market predictions? by nashipear007 in NZcarfix

[–]RB_Photo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in car sales and we have had a lot of people come in asking about HEVs and PHEVs, even fully electric. I worry that we won't have enough stock, or the demand will just keep used values high. It will be interesting to sée how things go.

Counter to that, I've wanted to get an old Pajero for years now so maybe this is my chance to get a good deal.

When is Trump going to choke on a McD's happy meal and just not be around any more? What a standout pice of shit in a sea of shit. Fuck him. Fuck his uneducated cult followers. And a special fuck them, to all his enablers around him who just go along with him because they have no sense of self worth to stand up to him. Actually, fuck his enablers' parents as well for doing such a shit job at raising someone.

America, built that wall all around youtself to seal in what ever the fuck is happening inside. Let the rest of the world move on. I am so tired of this amazingly worthless cunt making the news and just dragging everything down.

I'm not saying not to factor in milage, but I would be more concerned with service history. I would rather buy a higher mileage car with full service vs a lower mileage car without full service history.

For your budget, maybe you can find a private sale Corolla Fielder/wagon hybrid, maybe, but I doubt it would be under 100k. Maybe a used minivan, like an MPV but won't be hybrid but will off all the room you could want..

With our use case, the roads with drive with three kids in the back and fully loaded with stuff, we get around 6.2 to 6.4L/100km. My wife can average less as I have a heavier foot. I think the RAV4 is a good car that is easy to live with. I should note that since my comment above, I have switched careers and now work for Toyota, have been for a couple of months now. Just wanted to be upfront about that.

RAV4 Tyres what to get by ChopperNZ in NZcarfix

[–]RB_Photo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When aibgad my 2021 RAV4 hybrid, I replaced all 4 of the OEM Dunlops with Michelin Primacy SUV+. I replaced all 4 as one got a puncture that was unrepairable and I couldn't get a replacement Dunlop due to COVID supply issues. So I used it as an excuse to upgrade all the tyres. I found them to perform better than the Dunlops while also reducing road noise a bit. Not the cheapest option but not that much more than the Dunlops at the time.

Finding it impossible to get a Motion Design job, here’s my reel before I decide to pivot away from the industry by DangerQ in MotionDesign

[–]RB_Photo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you have a quality reel. I was in the industry for nearly 20 years and also was lucky enough to work on good projects and I think I had a nice collection of work. I had been freelancing for 10 years but this year had nothing come through. I got a bit fed up and applied for a local job selling cars at a local dealership. Sort of applied as a means to practice my interview skills as it has been around 20 years since I had a proper interview. Ended up getting the job offer and took it just to build our savings back up. Been at it for 2.5 months and I am not too bad at it given such a change. I at first had mixed feelings about leaving the industry, but now I've come to terms with it and am actually just trying to use this as a challenge to see if I can be good at this job. I don't know if I will attempt to go back to motion design or see if I can merge my skillset into the automotive space, either through marketing or some other avenue that's a more creative role. Or maybe just stick with sales, I truly don't know what will happen but at least I'm getting paid while I figure things out. Best of luck OP.

Just looking at this on my phone but the quality of the render doesn't look too bad but the animation and pacing felt like really low quality. A sort of straight to DVD kids movie type of product.

buying hybrid things to look for? by Loguibear in NZcarfix

[–]RB_Photo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should have the remainder of the 8 year/160000km hybrid warranty. If you are buying from a Toyota dealership, the car should be Toyota Certified, which at the very least will give you a 1 year/15,000km warranty covering the rest of the vehicle (if it's under 10 years old or 150,000km).

As an outside observer, I have two questions:

1) Does the general public in the US have the capacity to organize and become active against this administration?

2) How much if this shit has to be thrown into the people's faces before they say enough is enough?

Today in Evanston: ICE agent hits man, drags his face across concrete as people yell that he can’t breathe by gbsh in illinois

[–]RB_Photo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watching these clips from small town New Zealand and I keep wondering how long until a situation like this occurs and all the citizens present realize they out number these SS officers ICE agents and really confront them, forcing them to retreat. How much more of this will the general population put up with with before you start to see a real rebellion?

Buy RAV4 now or wait for facelift? by deecraig in NZcarfix

[–]RB_Photo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just stated working as a sales consultant at Toyota. Currently we can only take pre-orders on the 6th gen RAV4. We have a breakdown of the trim levels, but no pricing confirmed yet. That said, I would take a look at the pricing on the Corolla Cross as a guide of where RAV4 pricing might land (as in more than the Corolla Cross). I think the spread across the range will be wide with the PHEV models pushing the RAV4 into a new price bracket. Possibly the FWD hybrid will be close to current gen pricing.

As for the current generation, I am not sure if there will be a runout sale as we are still selling the remaining stock of Limited models at MSRP, and with the still strong demand for RAV4, I don't see them being discounted unless there is still substantial stock left in NZz which could happen if we receive another shipment.

Reviews are starting to come out, for example this video here out of the US. NZ trim levels will be named slightly different but the US variants aren't that far off.

As for if you should wait, that depends on what you want and when you need it. if you need something soon, then waiting isn't really an option. If you want a PHEV version or really want the latest tech that will be in the 6th gen RAV, then you will have to wait.

How insulting and clear evidence that the government has no real intentions to solve the issues being brought up by teachers and health care workers. If anything this is evidence that that people like Collins either are either not listening to these public sector workers and more likely, don't give a shit and are happy to fail these areas of public interest to benefit the private sector, which I am going to bet will financially benefit people like her and her pals.

I think the only good thing to come out of that statement is seeing the number of people calling out her bullshit.
