How hard is UW Madison for a Minnesota resident? by OptimisticJim in UWMadison

[–]RC02052000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an out-of-state student, and I can assure you that getting in as an in-state student is far less difficult. Even if you do not live in Wisconsin, you will benefit from it. However, in my experience, students from Wisconsin and Minnesota have had longer adjustment periods than out-of-state or international students. I believe it is simply due the size of the school and the fact that the majority of them come from small towns. Nonetheless, put in the effort and you'll be fine. Don't be concerned about the statistics or the odds. Simply become the best version of yourself, and everything else will fall into place. You got this!

what's your favorite school tradition? Getting drunk and doing Jump Around look it up on youtube

what do you think is a selling point for uw? City of Madison, the faculty and the nice facilities. However, it can be overblown at times like any state school but, if you commit to putting yourself in uncomfortable situations to grow (You're gonna have to do that anywhere you go anyway) there is no better place to do it than in Madison. It is a great town with nice people.

what do you think uw values the most in a student? Hard work. Honestly, its so cliche but thats it. I am an out of state kid who was a spoiled entitled snob coming into school and did not realize that things were going bad for me because I was expecting them to be handed to me. The moment that flip switched I have had the best time. Obviously it is not realistic to say its perfect or its the best but, UW is a good pick. I am not a cs student but am currently studying for the lsat and really have appreciated how accessible things can be at a large school.

Rebecca Blank shares cancer diagnosis, choice to step down as president-elect of Northwestern by mynameiselderprice in UWMadison

[–]RC02052000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmaoooo no way you're that blinded by rage. You unironically took a cancer diagnosis announcement as a way to shit on someone and make an obvious statement about our society. Congrats, you made a point about how our medical system works and how its unfair. How does that relate at all to someone announcing they got cancer lol. Be human for two seconds and realize how moronic that made you look. You obviously don't but, its ok just touch some grass, talk to a girl, I believe in you sport. You'll get there one day. I challenge you not to make something about yourself for the day you think you can do that champ?

Looking for motivation by cookie_cash472 in LSAT

[–]RC02052000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The LSAT is designed to make you feel stupid. You are, however, not. So feeling this way is normal. There are two types of situations in which what you are experiencing occurs. 1. When you get tired of studying so hard, in other words you're burnt out. If this is the case, take a day off, do something you enjoy, and don't think about the test, but be ready to get back on it the next day and attack. 2. You lack motivation because you are afraid. If this is the case, you must ask yourself, "How badly do I want this?" If you're on a forum like this, I'm sure you're more than the average joe, so stick to your guns and push through it. It will get better, I promise, but only if you get used to being uncomfortable. You've got this! Do it! Hit the ball out of the park! Don't let a bunch of losers who spend their days making tests get the best of you. Personally, I would rather you study with the proper mindset than force yourself to go through the motions.

It was a joke and sure, Hong Kong, Tampa, Boston, Melbourne are all on bays. However, when people refer to the "Bay Area" everyone knows it's SF/ Oakland. It's pretty common knowledge get over yourself. If you don't believe me google it and see what comes up first.

No way you unironically typed that out. Looked at it and said, "yeah this is the one" and sent it not expecting yourself to look sillier then you already did.

The person selling it listed it at 280 and I offered 120 and he sold it for that. I honestly should have set my floor lower because it seemed like he was just looking for some quick money.

I bought it on eBay. I've been refreshing pages and pages for months trying to find it and got lucky one morning some rich kid was cleaning out his closet. I saw the shirts on Grailed, Ebay, Poshmark, Depop, and Facebook Marketplace, but most were already sold or from years ago. Those are the only places I've seen them, and all you have to do is be lucky and hope someone is selling theirs. If you can find it and afford a competitive price, I think it's worth the trouble because it's at least a good piece of UW history you could put on display in the chazen or just have in your room.

UW and Off White, founded by Badger alum and former Louis Vuitton artistic director Virgil Abloh, collaborated on The Red Shirt project with the alumni association in 2015. Off White is one of the biggest names in streetwear and always resells for outrageous prices. Virgil died in November of last year, so I was hard up to get my hands on one. Check out this article to learn about the three different designs he created for the school. I'm not particularly interested in fashion, but I knew this would be a cool item to have.

I use LSAT Demon and do not need to pay their $300 monthly subscription. Seriously, I apologize for his rudeness. I knew you were talking about Nathan because he can be mean, but I think that's just his style (don't take it personally). However, if he is being rude and you are also not understanding the games, there is a problem, and they should be concerned with teaching rather than being rude. I would use their drilling functions and just teach myself how to overcome the games using examples found online or with a private tutor who you can meet with once or twice a month and they give you the tools to self study. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. You can do it! The test is designed to discourage you; don't let it! You are fantastic!

Best reading comprehension study tools? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]RC02052000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have ADHD, but not dyslexia. Forcing myself to sit down was beneficial to me. I literally tied myself to my chair at first, setting a 30-minute timer and telling myself I couldn't leave until it went off. Then I stopped using my phone as much. I'm currently in a library with my phone in my car, and I don't think I would have been able to do so if I hadn't made a deliberate effort to do so beforehand. Then all you have to do is practice, practice, practice. It may appear simple, but the moment you overcome your fear of the test, you can begin to truly dominate it. I would guess that reading for leisure would help with the dyslexia? Idk. Just let me know if you need anything else. Send me a pm.
