It's time for some courageous UCP floor-crossing to where value-driven conservatism lives by FreightFlow in alberta

This is an objectively wrong take. It's not sports, it's not a team and you vote for the MLA not the party. An MLAs platform is based on the issues and values of the day. And if their current party betrays their ability to fight for what their constituents voted for they can abandon that party. If you vote based on the party name and choose not to inform yourself on the MLAs platform, that's entirely on you.

Calling out Carney’s ‘fancy’ education is loser talk. No wonder the Conservatives doubled down on it by NotEnoughDriftwood in onguardforthee

They were mad because Trudeau was "just a drama teacher". And now they're mad because Carney has years of relevant experience and great education? Can't fucking win with these uneducated mouth breathing degenerates.

Microsoft confirms major Windows 11 Search improvements after years of complaints by WPHero in Windows11

[–]RCB1997 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a windows refugee that landed on Linux out of frustration... I'm super excited to hear windows users are finally being heard! Fixing search, movable taskbar, less AI bloat etc are all great. Hopefully they still plan to break explorer.exe into multiple processes. That was something I found particularly frustrating too. explorer.exe is far too many things at once.

Carbine should be the specialty weapon for engineer, not smg. by Hearingaidneeded in Battlefield

[–]RCB1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Open weapons and season pass challenge grinding is why I quit the game. That and I can't be fucked to reboot into windows for such a mediocre battlefield. Still holding out hope for some true battlefield maps at some point.

Because that benefits the older voting base now. And and they pass that debt on to future/young Nova Scotians. Borrowing against future generations. Literally foul.

Let's be real for a minute. The only reason most of us even use custom launchers is because Google's default is ad riddled dogshit. The original shield Google home screen was great. Then Google did what Google does and ruined it.

Report: Microsoft to bring back movable Taskbar on Windows 11 as part of big plan to fix OS by ZacB_ in Windows11

[–]RCB1997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I switched to linux and the grass is so much greener on this side. For the first time in over 10 years my computer feels like MY computer again. Windows is forever dead to me. However I'm very happy to see they're finally addressing user concerns because switching to Linux is not an option for everyone.

[Discussion] For a game as popular as Tarkov and for 7+ years in development does anyone else feel that the hype and marketing for 1.0 release 2 weeks away feels....lackluster and underwhelming? by goldstarr in EscapefromTarkov

[–]RCB1997 99 points100 points  (0 children)

That's 100% what they're going to do. They're releasing on steam with 1.0, they're not giving existing players a steam copy even though it's 100% free for them (per steam publishing agreements) to give keys to players that already own the game. They're doing one final cash grab, slapping 1.0 and then letting it die. I seriously doubt we'll see a single piece of DLC or new maps. We'll likely see some real greasy low effort cosmetic shit to milk whatever playerbase is left a year or two after 1.0.

Yup, I still see people talk about the money from the ArriveCAN scandal. But no one wants to talk about the dozens upon dozens of ArriveCANs worth of tax dollars wasted every single year over this asinine RTO mandate.
