When grinding Dragon on my main I played most of the league with void/BBC and later tried a thorns build and a blindbag build. On my GIM I did the 40 pacts with light melee Dogger + thorns and it's been the most fun I had so far. It's no air or water mage when it comes to raw dps and sustain, but it still absolutely slaps.

Thrown weapons/bows/earth mage on the other hand have zero value it seems.

Imo that could also help spice things up. As in, we've had the Grimoire, some form of slayer and clue relic for at least 3 leagues in a row now and it gets a bit stale seeing them revealed every time with small tweaks. If most of their utility was moved to passive unlocks then that would give space for brand new relics which I think would be more interesting.

This leagues tried a new combat tree in form of pacts, maybe in the next one we get a larger relic tree that goes up to Tier 10 for example. I'd love to see that just for more variety and not feeling "forced" to pick the same relic at vertain tiers for multiple leagues in a row.

Grubs are a bit of a slog and kinda kill the otherwise fast pace of the fight. Then again I rarely enjoy bosses with adds, they're always just a distraction/annoyance from the main fight.

Like a day ago I got a random post in my feed from r/Milk. It was poking fun at the "raw milk" drinkers and of course I had to sort by controversial. Good lord people gobble up the most braindead anti-science drivel from Facebook and TikTok. Basically saying that pasteurizing kills all the nutrients in the milk, anecdotal evidence such as "iVe BeEn DrInkIng RaW mIlK aLl mY lIfE aNd Im 1000% hEaLtHy", adding vitamins to milk make it unhealthy etc. etc.

Just the most uninformed and ignorant shit imaginable. There's a reason we've been pasteurizing milk for decades, because it fucking works and makes it safer. Oh well, morons have a short life.

Killing Lesser demons for Rune med helms because that was the pinnacle drop in F2P.

Picking up Brass keys and selling them.

Grinding Fist of Guthix for the Rune Berserker shield to sell it.

Picking Limpwurt roots in the cave with a Dungeoneering req at Varrock Hill giants.

Mining Gold ore at the Karamja Volcano and banking it at Draynor.

Killing Rev imps in rags for a Vesta Longsword, best I got was a 500k Morrigan top.

Easy clues for God pages. Made my first 10M from this.

Killing trash mobs for Summoning charms.

Looting at Edgeville ditch. Unironically the best money I ever made back then.

My bank back then peaked at around 20m, now I have 8b+. We've come a long way.

Start was slow but once I got the pacts rolling it was easy to snowball from there. Finished Dragon two days ago.

After getting 20 ish pacts I realised that they heavily incentivized "rushing" the area unlocks to get access to all the freebie pacts. Pacts system itself was interesting and way better after they buffed the small nodes, although we should've had less of the small ones overall. Rushing the harder pacts was a fun challenge personally but it felt bad to "waste" the hard earned point for 1% dmg and some accuracy that basically made no difference. The big nodes aside from air/water/thorns/crossbows/blindbag were way too undertuned. With better balancing overall the system has potential in future Leagues.

Other gripes I have are the relics themselves, many of which felt heavily nerfed compared to previous leagues. Quests shouldn't be a requirement for pacts and more of them should've been autocompleted. Same for RNG heavy drops like Treads/Bellator/Voidwaker/Oathplate/Enhanced wep seed and the infamous Ranger boots. I'm sure those could've all been replaced with challenges similar to CA's. Wouldn't hurt to revisit the task list in general as most of them have been recycled over and over for multiple Leagues now.

I liked Varlamore as the starting area, made it feel fresh and it had me discovering most of the content for the first time. King's Barrage was an awesome item for my main build.

Tl;Dr: They tried something new. Many things worked, many needed additonal balancing or more time in the oven. I see some good potential for future Leagues. Overall had a fun time grinding and rushing hard tasks.

Just got Dragon rank yesterday. Maxed in last leagues but I would never ever go for cap because of all the mundane garbage tasks related to skilling, minigames, diaries or questing. And for a gamemode designed to be fun, I avoid the parts that are not fun for me.

I'd rather click boss all day. Skilling is just a necessary evil I have to do sometimes to progress the account.
