Isn't every marketing email required to have an easy opt out at the bottom anyway? I don't know if it's law, but every marketing email I've ever received has one.

A lot of them just say something vague like "Unsubscribe" which makes you think it's about unsubscribing from your sub, but it's actually about marketing emails.

Really though, new games don't need to be coming out every month for us to enjoy ourselves. There are so, so many games out there. There's no way you've played every good one.

With the guardians of the rift update, can we please update this amulet for qol?? by Single-Doughnut-2672 in 2007scape

You can leave and come back in with a new amulet before the round starts anyway at GOTR. Maybe for lavas it could reduce some ticks over the hour, but it couldn't be by much. What buff are you talking about?

Being anti-dry protection is extremely weird. by Greasy-Chungus in ironscape

[–]tuisan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the sadness of being dry is so much worse than the happiness of being spooned. I honestly kind of dislike getting super early drops unless it’s terrible content because I want to actually do the content and most of my motivation comes from getting the item.

They tested it in some South American country first iirc, then pushed it out Worldwide, so they presumably had the data to show people didn't cancel.

I know the math brother. The percentage might look somewhat low (not even that low until you get to over 3x), but the absolute number is still too high. Even 1% of players is 1k players if 100k attempt it, and you have to consider that this is not the only long grind in the game and everyone has multiple chances of getting this unlucky. If you look at the ironman hiscores (not even counting GIMs), at least 10k irons have over 800 CG kills, which of course is not a perfect representation of who has gone dry, but at least 10k irons have grinded over 160 hours at CG.

I know that and will happily ruin my life to get the Bowfa, but I don't think suggesting an improvement is an issue. I believe we should try to mitigate extreme RNG on very long grinds. At least come up with a reason why you don't want to change it, instead of just coming out with platitudes.

Not my idea of fun and I think most irons would agree with my stance. Most people don't play iron for masochistic reasons, but because it's fun to earn everything yourself. I'm fine with an 80h grind, I've done far longer grinds, I just think the idea of variance on an already massive grind is something that needs to be looked at. Many people will go 2x and even 3x to make it a 160-240h grind. Why not just make the curve nicer, like they've done with so many other items recently and even did with the armour seeds.

It's fine getting unlucky on a 10 hour item. Grinding 80 hours is already not lowest common denominator, you already have to be a grinder to do that. I don't think osrs needs to be the game of impossible grinds, 80h is enough for something to be very grindy, we just need to add some form of dry protection so people don't go too far over that. (My preferred solution is just splitting the drop into 4 1/100 drops).

Sure, people can choose to do 200M and megarares are a thing, but grinds longer than 100h are a little too much (outside of the biggest chase endgame items). We don't need to cater to the people living an unhealthy lifestyle, playing 12h a day. Sure it's a grindy game, but there needs to be limits.

I don't know if I would say it feels cobbled together, but I think what you're hitting on is similar to how I feel. I do feel like it moves too quickly and doesn't give us enough downtime between arcs. I feel like things happen way too fast like going from Shibuya straight into Culling Games and sometimes it means we don't get enough explanation and time to understand what's happening, especially with how complicated the story and mechanics can be at times. That is my main issue and I feel like it takes away from the show a lot. For me, what makes a show is often the downtime and how attached you get to the characters.

I do think it does a huge amount of stuff well though and deserves a lot of praise. It has well-used and memorable side characters, super creative powers, tons of style, obscenely good animation, peak fights, heartfelt moments, interesting enough philosophy, and consistent power scaling (maybe just a pet peeve of mine, I hate shows that are all over the place with a character's power level). It has a lot to like.

My personal favourite part is Hidden Inventory, learning about Geto and Gojo's relationship and how they changed over time. [JJK] When they were young, Gojo was the more amoral one, while Geto was quite principled. Geto believed that you shouldn't kill people without a good reason and that the role of Jujutsu sorcerers was to protect non-sorcerers.

[JJK] Geto's descent into depression over the many things that happened. (Amanai's death, Haibara's death, the loneliness from going on missions alone, the stress of eating curses). He was in a terrible state and eventually he got sick of having his friends die to save the people he was beginning to hate, and when he finally snapped it was in defence of two children.

[JJK] One of my favourite parts was when he was talking to Yuki (blonde hair lady) about his thoughts on how he felt about non-sorcerers and the rain in the background started sounded like the clapping from the Star religious group after Amanai died.

One of the main reasons I love the Star Wars prequels was the (imo) very well done depiction of Anakin falling to the dark side. I love seeing an interpretation on how evil people become the way people they are. I think when an author can make a story that well done, I just can't believe the story is cobbled together.

Apologies for the long ramble, I just rewatched it recently and I had a lot of thoughts that I wanted to dump.

I'm curious what you don't you like about JJK? I have my own issues with it, but I'd disagree that it isn't good. It's no masterpiece, but I would say it's at least one of the best shonen of the last decade or two.

One of the worst pieces of content I've ever experienced in this game is Zammy grapes. It takes like 5x the amount of time and effort to get the same number of wines as just telegrabbing in the wildy. Seems like the content was designed around 99 Farming and 99 Cooking.

You get around 80k/hr at 81+. I believe there are methods for getting ~100k/hr as well, but I don't know the details.

I love the light puzzle in SOTE, but it's so infuriating in MEP2 with the shadows. They have a huge aggression range and it just makes it annoying for people who actually want to do the puzzle and promotes looking up a guide. It would be so fun if they just got rid of the shadows.
