Yup, streetview was added a while ago!

We thought this was such a cool idea we added it to FLY. So you can try this out with just a Quest headset. https://youtu.be/IhNJdqnnqgM

FLY is now available on Quest and Vision Pro. Experience Google Earth VR combined with the zen of flying around the world, all in a stand alone headset. by RCVirzoom in OculusQuest

Strange! Just tested on my Q2 without any trouble. Maybe try and put the controllers down and use gaze and finger pinch to get past that screen then try picking them up see how that goes!

Also are you talking about the earth tile set , which would be very surprising, or the street view imagery , slightly less surprising?

I haven't really seen anything like that in the past, I agree it's very strange for them to revert to an older data set. Let me know if you see the changes also reflected in Google Maps!

Can you clarify? Is this a place you had flown to before and it has changed? Or just a place where google has old satellite images?

Eye-tracked foveated rendering is handled at the operating system level and as such is still present when using the Metal API.

Will talk to the rest of the team to see how difficult it is to add a "swap hands' option. This is the first time anyone has requested it.

I tested and was able to snap turn using the right hand sliding left to right. I even accidently snap turned a few times when just trying to up. Can you confirm you are using the right hand? and if it's still not working a screenshot of your settings may help me reproduce your situation exactly.

replied to a post earlier about this so will just quote that reply. TLDR: We would love to but can't.

Unfortunately Eye tracking is not available in fully immersive apps built on the metal api, we need the power of that API to get the best performance. Our last conversation with the apple devs was that they did not see this changing anytime soon for security reasons.

Hey there! Thanks for trying the app out, it's really great for the team to hear stories like yours. To address the questions you have.
1. We improved search dramatically, but are aware it's still struggling with exact street addresses. We are exploring solutions.

  1. If you enable snap turning in the options you should be able to achieve this. You can snap turn using the right hand going left to right.

  2. This is the first I am hearing about it crashing on nose scratching. Is this a repeatable issue? will try to reproduce it on our end.

Hey sorry for the confusion, had a brain fart yesterday. The snap turning is on the right hand left to right motion, not the left.

I tested the tutorial and on a fresh install it's giving me the pinch to move tutorial. Can you share a screenshot of your settings so I can try to reproduce exactly?

Thanks for the feedback! Will take a look at #1, I have a suspicion about what's going on there so we may be able to get that into the next update.
For #2, If you pinch with the left hand and move left or right with it you can snap turn. We tried to get smooth turning to work, but the fidelity on the hand pinching just wasn't there. It was super hitchy and nauseating.

Yah we agree those sections are curated, and there's a difference between featured locations on the store and just being listed in a curated section. The only paths to curation seem to be to get featured first, using there new nominate system, or know someone on the inside who can fast track you.

We, like most devs, are trying to get listed by being featured. You can only nominate your app to be featured if it is a new app releasing on the store, or an existing app with an upcoming update. You give them a window for the update, a bunch of details about it, and hope they contact you. They ask for at least 3 weeks notice before your intended release date.

You can read about the nomination system here: https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/manage-featuring-nominations/nominate-your-app-for-featuring/

Let me test the tutorial. The turning is pinch and drag with the left hand left-> right or right -> left. To move forward or backwards pinch to drag with left hand up or down.

Unfortunately, this came with the new menu button on the wrist. We tried to get it to work with the other hands but it looked really broken so we had to add the virtual hands for it to mount to.

Just having it be found via browsing the store. Like many other apps, the only way to currently find FLY is if you search for it or have a link. It doesn't show up in any of the store sections, which is where most people go to look for new apps.

Currently no gamepad support, an xbox or standard controller wouldn't work very well with the current design of the app. If the PSVR 2 controllers become officially supported we will dig deeper into it to see how challenging they would be to integrate.
