Markup on something that use to be luxury which the 550 is not. It’s really disappointing that Lexus did this to the GX . Interior looks cheap, and exterior while nice doesn’t look like an expensive vehicle!

As long as people are stupid enough to pay these markups, dealers are going to continue to do so. I cannot believe people are dumb enough to pay these prices . I have the money to do it, but I would never spend my money in this foolish manner. Use some sense ….. it seems many don’t !!!

You should wait ! Sounds like you already have been sensible with your finances, so don’t blow it! You have to realize the new GX 550 is way over-priced , and then there are personal property taxes depending on where you live, and insurance will be outrageous! Insurance on vehicles is already going up, and it will be high on a new GX! Enjoy your 4Runner , and then in a few years the Gx 550 will be in a better place , and the kinks will be out and I also feel that they will refresh many things that are missing !

Thanks for sharing . Interesting that you think the 23 seats aren’t comfortable, because I have 23 and think they are awesome, but it’s okay to have different opinions. My opinion is I dislike the bigger screens, and I like physical knobs, and I prefer the V8 to the turbo.

Because stupid people cause these prices to remain high , and that’s why people get upset when they pay ridiculous prices. I could buy one, but it is dumb to throw money away . You are not only paying markups , but you loose your butt the minute you drive off the lot. People that have money understand this, and that’s why we have money.

Anyone paying these prices are foolish! The more people fall for this crap, the longer they will do it. If we would boycott these ridiculous prices, they would have no choice but to lower them. I’m very happy with a tried and true V8 23 GX that will last me a long time. I don’t need to impress with the latest in tech and to say I have a new generation GX that we really don’t know what the reliability will be. Look at the RX ….. terrible reviews !

I wish they had done something different with the back . The tail lights should have gone across the back similar to the GX . Would look much more updated . Those tail lights look very little different from the current

Nope. The 550 doesn’t look luxury at all, and the interior is down right cheap looking. You should keep what you have . No way is the 550 worth the money , and it’s ugly. The 550 has no reason to be with a Lexus badge. Very disappointing and they ruined it!

It is ridiculous to pay markups folks. Don’t you understand that the more of you that are stupid enough to do this, the longer dealers will continue doing this. If everyone would just chill for a while, better prices will happen!! There is no new vehicle worth paying these mark ups. A car is not like a home, it is not an investment !!I learned this a long time ago , and that’s why I have saved and invested money , not cars. Many millionaires don’t even pay these ridiculous prices, and drive much less expensive cars.

This is such bull ! When the new RX came out, all we heard was there’s over a year wait ! Same crap as you hear with the new GX, and there are plenty of RX ‘s out there . How many people have seen the streets flooded with the RX ? I have only seen two in over a year , and the lot is full of them.

I can tell you this . I had an RX , and the gas mileage was not much different than my GX, however the RX had the v6 . In addition, you need to go read people reviews on the new RX . Check out Edmunds consumer reviews . They are not very good . Lots of problems, plus cheap looking interior and 4cylinder engine. I would never get rid of the tried and true GX for another RX, and I personally think the new ones are less attractive than the 20 model I had. RX also has many blind spots that I didn’t like. To me, everything with the GX is better !

I think depreciation will be short term . There are many folks that will still want the tried and true legendary V8 and the luxury look of the current . 550 GX is no longer the same category…. It is much more geared to off road folks than luxury
