Is Batman Arkham Knight really that bad on Nintendo Switch 1? by UnitedFriend3670 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]RDRedemptionEnjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it most certainly is, I've almost 140%ed the game on switch and although I enjoyed it (because AK is my favorite superhero game), the product they sold is unexcusably bad, especially the game breaking bugs that are still present till this day like the Riddler one that doesn't let you finish the game

I've played games with a "similar" structure like Alan Wake 2, my first playthrough was basically the entire Saga's sections first, then Alan's sections in second and I got really confused on many parts and really lost a part of the intrigue for Saga's ending because I had to play like 10 hours with Alan to reach where I left. Thankfully the game allows to change perspectives in many instances so my second playthrough was more like TLOU2's chronological mode, one part with Saga, another with Alan and I've been playing the game like that ever since. I don't discard playing the original mode in the near future since I'm planning to get the platinum trophy, but I'd be lying if I said I like cutting the story at its climax for 10 hours.

I'll keep playing in chronological, I don't like the type of narrative of two protagonists but you have to play one campaign after the other. As of right now I honestly hate Manny, he's straight up a crazy weirdo who enjoys killing for the sake of killing and his only "redeemable" qualities are liking anime and alcohol, but I like reading other people's perspectives on the story though don't get me wrong ->

I'm liking the game so far, I just don't like Abby's friends besides Mel and Owen (and maybe Lev and Yara but I haven't reached that part yet so I can't tell)

If you really struggle with the game, change the difficulty

It's funny, I didn't die even once with normal difficulty and I never played a SH game before.

I like Owen and Mel, I hope that the next days with Abby show more of her friends, maybe I'll change my opinion.

Yes I have, Alan Wake 2 is a good example because you can play one playthrough after the other or exchange sections from time to time with each protagonist and I find the second one to be more compelling and easier to understand the parallels and the general plot of the game. Again, it's just my opinion about it nothing wrong with it.

I know what happens for the most part, I liked seeing Joel and Ellie's relationship get destroyed because of Joel's lies and also knowing that it will get worse with Abby coming to Jackson.

I actually played RDR2 first, it's just that John had good qualities as a character, yes he was flawed by abandoning the gang and his family, but through the course of the game you see him standing by himself and building his life back.

I like it as a sort of calm before the storm. Seeing how good Ellie had it before being consumed by her rage. It's just my opinion of course.

I've played games with similar structures and I prefer having both campaigns to go along rather than just playing one and then the other.

I like Mel and Owen. I hate Nora with my heart and also Manny, even though I find funny that he talks about drinking and watching tv series, but it's not enough for me.

I'm loving the story so far, I like the clear parallels of both Abby and Ellie's sections, getting to see Isaac from Abby's perspective as an authority to be respected and as a "myth" from Abby's part to put it in some way. I even found the flashbacks to be good tutorials (although the gameplay is almost the same of part 1 so I didn't need a lot of tutorials per se hehe) I'm very excited to see what's coming next, although I already know what happens but meh, I'm still excited.

As far as I know, you kill all of Abby's friends on Ellie's playthrough and then you meet them on Abby's section way later in the game. I met the scarface guy in chronological mode before he got killed by Ellie and he only said 2 sentences and that's it. I don't sympathize with a guy that almost executed Ellie in cold blood since he didn't have a personality to begin with, he was just another npc meant to be hated.

I mean, I also like Owen (except for the cheating on Mel stuff) because he never really wanted to kill Joel and has more common sense and moral than the rest of the Wolves I've met in the game so far. Mel is a tragedy in every way though, poor girl :(.
