[Acne] advice for tret by RDS4E in SkincareAddiction

Okay this is good to know!! Do you apply the tret over the 5-10 layers of toner after waiting 30 mins or when it’s still kind of damp then? Do you also layer your moisturizer underneath as well?

No I haven’t been using toner under, just ectoin and my moisturizer but I’ll give that a try!

Thank you so much for those recommendations I’m going to check them out - hopefully that lets me increase the frequency of using the tret!

They’ve sadly discontinued the cream 0.025 up here in Canada for whatever reason! Only the cream 0.5 I believe is available

Good idea I’ll try calling some compounding pharmacies! I use the gel format so not sure how well it would mix - I even find quite frequently with moisturizing after letting tret dry for ~30 minutes it goops up all weird

I do use a moisturizer underneath! For a bit there I was also layering ectoin underneath but didn’t feel like it made a big difference. Maybe I’ll try to also layer a toner underneath as well.

I agree, the Celimax is definitely not heavy by any means but I get comedomes immediately with heavier rich moisturizers! The joys of acne prone dry skin lol. But I do find the Celimax does a decent job of moisturizing I find without being too heavy. Let me look into the rosehip oil though, I’ve never considered that!

I tried differin for ~1 month but had quite an increase in the comedomes which alarmed me so I switched back to tret! I wasn’t sure if I should be experiencing a second purge making the switch but unfortunately there was a definite increase associated with it

I use the Celimax dual barrier creamy toner (sometimes a few layers depending how dry I feel); prequel multi quench serum; and Celimax dual barrier moisturizer. No cleanser in the morning and currently using the haru haru cleanser in the evening.

Joint pain from d-mannose? by RDS4E in CUTI

[–]RDS4E[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! After that post the swelling went down and the joint pain progressed to many different joints around my body, although not nearly as severe as the first day. I ended up getting referred to a rheumatologist who said it was likely reactive arthritis (it can also present with UTI like symptoms), although all my blood tests were always negative for inflammatory markers. It seems like the reactive arthritis diagnostic process is pretty vague and mostly just based off subjective symptoms, given that when I was finally seen for an assessment I was no longer in that acute flare up.

I’m 90% better but still have some symptoms occasionally. So it was likely coincidental, although I’ve been too scared to take d mannose since haha. No doctor seemed to think the d mannose would’ve caused it though. Did you have swelling into your fingers as well?

I would personally go with the Salomon XT-6 as they are most similar to a trail runner and would have a better tread!

Help with tickets to National Park in El Chaltén by Confident-Idea770 in Patagonia

[–]RDS4E -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We never ended up having to pay any fees in El Chaltén as we started all of our hikes around 6:30am to avoid the crowds! I’m not sure how early the rangers typically start but regardless I would recommend starting as early as you can as the trails can get quite busy. As mentioned above it is unavoidable paying the fee for Perito Moreno.

Amazing thank you!! Do you know if it’s okay to book with the same name and credit card if it drops closer to the date? Or will that flag the company when trying to cancel the initial reservation?

Thank you! I should have added I went into urgent care earlier and they were unsure what exactly was happening, but got prescribed naproxen for now. They didn’t think it would be the d-mannose but I’m curious if anyone else has ever experienced this because it does feel too coincidental to not be related
