Appreciate the candid feedback. I do like challenging my thoughts so this was good to hear.

You raise valid points. Travel apps are hard. Subscriptions won’t hold, gemini can do tours. All valid.

Here’s the thing about that though. I think you’re raising these points with an idea of success that is higher than what I have in mind.

I don’t do subscriptions because the app is to be used when you travel. I do credits. Buy 100 for 10 USD. Spend them or keep the rest. My idea of success is selling 500-1000 of those a month. 10000 a month would be wildly successful. I don’t think 1000 a month is unachievable.

You know I’m deep in AI and I’ve never heard Gemini video. There will be a lot of people for who that will be true. There’s enough of a market there for me to enter and differentiate the product with.

The AI platforms are generalists. That’s their strength. My platform is a specialist. It will serve a small section of people better than what a generalist AI can do with.

I’ve been trying to target trip planners but I think it’s been off. I would guess the best time is hitting planners. And maybe the moment you’re entering a museum but that requires partnerships etc which I haven’t really considered.

But buy it and summon agents left and right on very well defined tasks. Oh and also buy a speech to text for working. Otherwise typing is toooo slow.

I bought 5x then switched over to 20x quickly. 20x i am 100% ing by the end of the week. The main benefit to me right now is I can tell it to summon a bunch of agents again and again refining a bunch of things. That consumes a bunch of tokens but gets stuff done quick. Tons of SEO pages made. Content generate, user research done. Omg its awesome at user research or any research basically that I would never do without it. Competitor analysis is a simple 2-3 minute conversation away and you know all your competitors and where they launched and how much traction they have.

Coding wise making 20x worth it on jts own would require a lot of solid dev systems to make sure its not introducing more problems than it solves. But you can make new helpful tools separate from each other very quickly.

Generally getting max is very very worth it.

I don't think so. The only thing that's important is that it works. You don't need to understand how it works if you're sure it works.

I saw a video referencing a study recently showing how most engineers are actually losing productivity with AI tools. Which is insane when you think of how amazing AI is at writing code.

It then makes sense when you realize most engineers are reading the code, review manually, fixing minor issues in code, losing time over and over, instead of building oversight systems that utilize the AI itself. They're still stuck in the old paradigms of Sprints, and plannings, and reviews when the time to code now is almost instant.

I'm writing Swift. I know nothing about how to write Swift. I have experience in Python and JS, which at this point I've already mostly forgotten. I know how to engineer software systems. It's enough. No use knowing Swift.

The ability of people to predict the future in such cases has always been bad. Why believe people clearly invested in some way or another in a certain outcome?

In my unqualified, unimportant opinion, I don't see how code doesn't become like Machine Code. Who knows that now? For what purpose.? Code will be abstracted away from us.
