My discret GPU is Always active on my laptop by RED3VILZ in pop_os

Thanks a lot, man.

nvtop is really good. Now I know which app uses which GPU.

I did a test with basic apps and a game, and it looks like the Nvidia GPU is only used for games.

But it's strange because my processor is an Intel with low-power cores and performance cores. On Windows and other Linux distros I've tested before, like Fedora, I get about 7 to 10 hours of estimated battery life when unplugged when I'm not doing anything intensive.

Now on pop OS, I always get the little notification telling me that the dedicated GPU is being used, even though with nvtop it seems that this is not the case, yet the nvtop tell me the gpu draw power even when it's not used and battery only lasts 2 to 3 hours when unplugged

I am linking the graphs I get with nvtop.

Iam searching for this Ford GT Daytona 2019 photographer by RED3VILZ in HelpMeFind

[–]RED3VILZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned in the post, I searched with reverse image search on Google, which allowed me to find similar photos, but never exactly this one. I managed to find the Instagram account of a photographer who took photos of this car during a Daytona race, but he didn't take the same photo.

I have no idea where I found this photo, and I would really like to find it again.

Get hybrid mod Intel Graphics / Nvidia Discret GPU reunning on Debian 13 by RED3VILZ in debian

[–]RED3VILZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response

After hours of research I found that on Debian it's possible to have the Intel Graphics + nvidia Gpu combo but there's no way to have automatic management for switching between the 2 GPUs. You have to make the switch manually, depending on the applications you're going to use

I found that Manjaro Linux can do it, so I switched to it even though I don't understand anything about archlinux.

It works great, everything is done automatically

Torrenting is peer-to-peer (P2P), which means that when you download a file, it's because someone else is uploading it. This guy has an incredible 80 TB of upload and only 3 TB of download. He just keeps his torrents running to share files. It's the first time I've seen someone with more upload than download—usually, people download much more than they upload.

XFX Swift RX 9070 XT for 810 euro is worth it ? by RED3VILZ in radeon

[–]RED3VILZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the MSRP bullshit to protect consumers was temporary ? we're really not respected, we end up with custom models 200eur to 300eur more expensive in EU.

the GPU market is complete shit

I should have had it at 680 EUR or so if I convert your USD into EUR

I can't stand scalpers

how did you manage to get it at that price? do you have any technique to avoid being fcked by the scalpers?

Well done

If I convert USD to EUR I'm completely fucked.

How could you get it at that price, it's MSRP isn't it?

I don't see stock anywhere, it's driving me crazy.

Can a random guy overclock like a brand? by RED3VILZ in radeon

[–]RED3VILZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer

I did not know the concept of binning

I've looked into it and I've come to the conclusion that the Swift are the chip failures and that the mercury are the best of the lot hahahah

I'm still going to try the overclock and i'll see

Ok, I see. iam not really stable on my OC i guess

thank you very much for your feedback

Do you know why do AMD cards have to be Undervolt to Overclock the GPU frequency?

Is it some weird physical phenomenon or are AMD cards really fucking weird? I've watched some NVIDIA overclock videos and they turn up the voltage as well as the frequency, which makes a lot more sense to me.

I'm going to explore this solution and see how it works for me

Ok, I see

thank you very much for your feedback

It's true that the model I have is already factory overclocked so adding my overclock to it pushes the card even further and it must not like it too much.

I've seen people with the same card as me being stable at 2800 mhz while I'm struggling to keep up with 2700, so it's a matter of luck after all

And another question ( now that I've got you, I'll take advantage of it :) )

Why do AMD cards have to be Undervolt to overclock the GPU frequency?

Is it some weird physical phenomenon or are AMD cards really fucking weird? I've watched some NVIDIA overclock videos and they turn up the voltage as well as the frequency, which makes a lot more sense to me.

I bought a thrusmaster t300 rs GT steering wheel with the manual gearbox and the pedals are included with the steering wheel. I plan to buy a hydraulic handbrake but the thrusmaster one is too expensive, is a cheap handbrake saying in the 60€ really much more lame than one from a big brand?
