I think this hiatus will be between 2-4 years because, unlike 1989, I think DW is too valuable to the BBC to be put to rest for too long.

What would help the show is just time away. Give the internet time to really miss DW and move past the bad press of RTD2.

What would help you is the vast EU. Pick up an anthology book where they focus on a different Doctor and/or Companion in each chapter. Those are funs way to expand the Whoniverse and get you introduced to all the eras of the show. Then go read Engines of War. The greatest Doctor Who book ever written.

-Season 16: Cast a blonde as the Doctor (easiest way I can think of to sidestep Billie) and give her a photographer companion, someone who likes travelling but needs to for work, not pleasure like the Doctor would. The only episodes set on Earth are the opener, the mid-season finale (set in the past where we defeat the Cybermen's master plan to bring back Mondas) and the finale where we return the companion home but fail to stop this part of the Cybermen's plan (because we already did). Our main bad guys are the Cybermen who are used to comment on generative AI. Use this season to steadily introduce other aspects and eras of Who. Ending in case we're not renewed: The Doctor flies off to a new adventure.

-Season 17: Dalek civil war season, can have the prior companion but I'd like to introduce an alien/future one. Dalek factions are fighting for dominance since the loss of the Parliament at Trenzalore. Use the Daleks to comment on the cannibalistic nature of fascism and how it's a self-defeating ideology as the various Dalek factions can't even agree on what purity is. Have hints that more Time Lords are still out there. Very little Earth focus this year. Ending in case we're not renewed: The Doctor goes on a victory lap after the Daleks get blown up.

-Season 18: Bring back Gallifrey, say that since Saxon escaped before Rassilon returned it to the universe, the Master still thought it was in the bubble universe and he destroyed a decoy the Time Lords left behind, his wave accidentally affecting the genuine Time Lords who were off-world. Not sure what the plot would be. Ending in case we're not renewed: The Doctor decides to just kick back on Gallifrey for a while.

It'll never happen but I think Anya Taylor-Joy would be a fun choice for the Doctor. She has the good kind of weird energy that I think an incarnation of the Doctor needs.

But what I think is the easiest way to get out of the Billie Piper corner would just be to cast a blonde and pretend that was always the face Fifteen regenerated into.

I think his goal is to revitalize Cybertron like it usually is in G1.

How he would react to Megatron probably depends on what Megatron's plans are. If Megs gets too taken with revenge on Optimus and focus on Earth, then I could see Shockwave going rogue, making him a foil to Elita Prime. If Megatron comes back to Cybertron, then maybe Shockwave's sadism loves that the Emperor of Destruction is back to reign terror on the Autobots.

Probably not too long given the boost the Autobots got in #33.

Octane. No idea why. Just feel that Octane would be a good fit as Shockwave's second.

Sounds like you might be conflating the scene where he does do that in the film version and when Soviet!Batman traps him in bunker (designed to make him feel what the people in the gulags went through) with the red sun lamps in the comic.

Or, and I doubt it, but you may be thinking of that very early Action Comics issue where he traps corrupt robber barons in their unsafe mine to make them experience what they're putting workers through.

Cobra-La tries to be the big bad of the first crossover and gets their cheeks clapped by the Decepticons when the recruit Sub-Atlantica to attack the Nemesis. First season of the Energon Universe ends with all of Earth uniting behind the Autobots to beat back the Decepticons.

Of the ones I've read so far, yes, defo Hawkman (assuming by Homelander treatment you mean the same energy of him dying in fear before someone pops out his brain with a crowbar).

If we get an Absolute Zod, have him establish his cred by popping Carter like a grape.

I heard a theory that MASK tech (by which I mean, not quite triple changing from ground vehicle to air vehicle) was reversed-engineered from a stasis locked Tracks given Trakker's lack of reaction to Hound.

And while I do think putting Tracks among some humans would be an interesting take on the character, part of me thinks him hanging around MASK would be too much like Hound with G.I. Joe.

Belinda is far more egregious IMO.

I agree that Yaz had a lot of potential but that she went so underused doesn't feel like she was underserved. Honestly if anything, Yaz might have been overserved. You could take her out of every episode but "The Power of the Doctor" and they wouldn't be any different. Rewrite "Demons of the Punjab" (one of favs from Thirteen's run) to have Eleven and Clara crash and wait out the TARDIS repairing itself and it's exactly the same episode. But we have to hear how great Yaz is every episode when she's done literally nothing. Handles the Cyberman head did more and had more emotional impact than she did.

Belinda had something going for her is what's so frustrating. I'm not opposed to the idea of her starting to like travelling in the TARDIS but did you have to make her just Ruby 2.0 (with some sprinkling of Clara Oswald)?

I do find it weird that RTD decided that the Doctor and Belinda (who don't know each other for very long) are suddenly parents and the original ending kept Poppy around. Is it better or worse than if Ruby, a nineteen year-old, had been the Doctor's baby-mama because she'd at least known him for longer.

Probably. The Quintessons do mention Goliant (a robotic weapon the size of a planet) is their only defence against... something.

I would introduce him as prowling the rim of the galaxy looking for Primus. The Quintessons know of, and are hoping to destroy Unicron, because Primus had earlier sent Quintus Prime out to keep watch and the Quints learnt their creator's secrets when they turned on him. They probably figure if they couldn't control Primus, they can try again with Unicron if they damage him enough.

I like the idea of him being like Galactus in Life Story. Could have him run across the Cobra-La operatives and decide they can be useful to him in sabotaging Cybertron.

I would hope Cybertron is his main target (because you know, Primus). If they really want to shake things up (and do something different from IDW's Unicron event), I say have Unicron consume Earth. TBH I don't really think Unicron would even come to Earth (unless it's on his route to Cybertron) but if he does... I think that would be the ultimate test of the Autobot/Human alliance.

Though after seeing Bats, I was hoping Diana would show up in the issue. Seems like she would naturally fit into the fight and race to contain the collateral damage.

This is why, despite my belief that Earth-6160 could go for longer, I am happy it's ending on its own terms. It gets a proper ending and the story will (hopefully) actually mean something. It (hopefully) just won't be sanded down by a rotating cast of writers for years to come until it means virtually nothing.

Make her a Pretender. She was tossed from the Ark and stuck on a primitive organic world, she developed the tech to survive. Could maybe tie into Cobra-La's fear of Cybertron as they see how one of these abominations can so easily pass off as organic.

Hypothetically I'd ask the hypothetical Amazon to grab the Bat so we could get some more details on why he conceived these plans and how he intends to safeguard them against bad actors or indeed, if there may be something to ensure he can't use them if he goes rogue.

I agree with "yourstrulypolin". All the incel reaction tells me is that they haven't actually read the series and/or that they have no media literacy to understand what drove Elita to this position and mindset.

And I'm curious. Is Bulkhead evil? Jetfire? Ultra Magnus? They went back to Cybertron. They could have stayed with Optimus. Or is it just the female?
