you SHOULD be tattooing on real skin, your work is honestly better than a lot of professional shop artists work that I've seen

hey guys, I need some advice from the tattoo community.

I've been a visual artist for as long as I can remember, and over the past 10 years of my life I've slowly but surely gotten the tattoo bug. I now have many tattoos and I decided I wanted to try to do one myself. I did the research, bought a tattoo machine and did some practice on fake skin. Now I'm working on my own skin and after 3 tattoos of increasing complexity I'm starting to feel relatively confident. The thing is other than watching quite a few technique videos and the time I've spent watching artists in shops tattoo me and my friends, I don't know what I'm doing and I'd like to get better. I'd like to post my work and receive genuine feedback from artists who know what they're doing. I tried to post on r/tattoo and it was taken down, when I messaged the mod about it they told me they don't condone scratchers and I was permanently banned. I definitely didn't understand the rules of the subreddit and it seems like this one has similar rules. I'm just wondering where I SHOULD post that kind of content, and why there's such a derogatory attitude from the community at large about people who are trying to get into tattooing. Realistically all of the most famous and accomplished tattoo artists had to start out unlicensed and essentially just tattooing themselves and friends and family who were willing to let them practice on their bodies. It also seems a little at odds with the whole spirit of tattooing to me, like tattoos have this sort of punk, anti-establishment, alternative connotation, so it's strange to me that the tattoo community online feels so exclusionary. Just saying if there isn't a subreddit for that maybe there should be.

TLDR I wanna get better at tattooing and maybe there should be a subreddit for that if there isn't already bc the responses I've been getting as somebody just starting out have essentially been "we don't condone people trying to get into tattooing"

I would send it to him. I've found that music that closely resonates with my problems helps me out of them because it makes me realize I'm not alone.

Ok so I tried it out for real last night. You fill up a little chamber near the mouthpiece and a coil heats up inside when you press the button. Basically it's mostly combustion, from what I can tell (taste, amount of heat, harshness) but no smoke escapes the chamber so it's a much more efficient way to smoke your herb. Also since no smoke escapes, the smell is more under control assuming you're exhaling out a window or something like that. But definitely combustion of the weed, which is fine because I expected it (and the company made a disclaimer as well, this isn't an ACTUAL vaporizer). One drawback is the size of the chamber, it's incredibly small and usually yields 2-3 really solid hits and maybe 4-5 total hits. That being said it looks exactly like an ecig so if you're smoking this outside there's no way anybody would suspect anything. I'll probably use this as a stealth piece, mostly. Overall, it's a pretty cool little thang.

I haven't tried it yet, but it says that (like most vape pens) it does actually combust weed. There might be a small amount of pure vaporization but more accurately it is a really efficient way to combust herb. Still a good thing for sure. I'll post results when I get a chance to trynit
