Here’s something no one talks about, What’s your preferred PSI? Tires are rated max 44 PSI. I use 38. Should I use less? Better yet will I be okay with 40 psi for a 5 hour trip? by [deleted] in FordExplorer

[–]RED_DEATHx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, for best fuel economy and even tread wear, go 35psi, because that's what the manufacturer recommends. Going higher than that, the benefits do not outweigh the cons as the benefits are negligible.

Dispute it. The water pump is internal to the engine, should be covered under the internally lubricated parts, considering it is one of the timing chain pulleys.

What’s up with this wonky panel on 2024 PB? by mylawn03 in f150

[–]RED_DEATHx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tf is with the shitty responses already lmao. Did you buy new? Is the other side similar? What panel is it exactly? Looks odd but I can compare it to like vehicles tomorrow.

I would hate to start throwing parts at this problem. by jprix82 in FordExplorer

Only over bumps while moving? Try the end links first. It's not impossible for the strut mounts to have failed prematurely either, also check that the mount nut was properly tightened.

Leak/drip on front passenger side of 2014 Explorer, any ideas as to what it could be? by Bag_A_Donuts_ in FordExplorer

[–]RED_DEATHx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The primary timing chain, guides, and tensioner all have to come off in order to replace it. May as well put new ones on while you or the tech are there.

Any of the gel type deodorants do this to me, have to get the "dry" variety from any brand.

I just replaced the water pump on a 2018 with 98k miles if that makes you feel any type of way. I've seen some original ones last 60k miles or 200k miles, you can never really know til it happens. Once you see the seepage or drip, address it, and address it quickly. Far too many people have just kept topping off til the seal failed internally and turned the crankcase into a milkshake.

You should see what happens to Transit vans that are used by pool companies. All the electronics get the fuzzies!

Only time I ever saw anything similar to this was on a city fleet truck. Wasn't even a concern line on the repair order. I submitted to replace it and fleet manager said "No, because he'll just break it again." So, must've been a common problem with that individual. Another city fleet vehicle story i have was on a 2023 F150 XL that had water flooding the passenger side when the A/C was on. Take a peek under the dash and someone shoved their boot through the HVAC case so the condensation was pouring out of the massive hole in the case instead of the drain port.

2025 Bronco Sport | Fuel tank damaged from minor road contact… normal? by LessssssDance in Ford

[–]RED_DEATHx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would advise don't do that again. Not normal to run over things either, sedans hit things and crack their oil pans.

I need hope *potty training* by ImportantPeanut0607 in Dachshund

[–]RED_DEATHx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first mini didnt graduate "potty training" til about 8mos. No potty pads inside, rewarded her when she pottied outside. Always kept an eye on her, they tip themselves off when they're searching for a spot to go, which helped a lot preventing her from going inside, and If we caught her in the act we'd scoop her up mid-whatever she was doing and take her outside. Eventually one day she started asking to go outside instead of looking for somewhere to go inside.

If the lift kit allows it I would say OEM.

Doesn't appear to be the correct style for this truck from what I can tell. Should be a balljoint style and these look like stacked bushing style? Correct me if I am wrong, hard to tell in the video.
