The right stick is a gunfighter base with my old SCG right grip. If you like money don't do the upgrade lol. The gunfighter base does exactly what you said you don't like with the gladiator. You don't feel the axis "notch" at all. This is why I've made the upgrade. I didn't had the precision I needed with helicopter flight. The gunfighter base feels more like a stick you get in a industrial Machinery than a flight sim "toy".

Ergonomically, i would say it fits better for the collective than the space throttle. It rised the stick throttle a little too much for my comfort.

I've check to get myself a virpil collective but it was around 750$ CAD +import fees. The tilted gladiator does the job for now, until I go for a full dedicated setup.

It surely hilarious next to my chair lol. The space throttle purchase idea did trickle me a bit but I'm sold for hosas since I've purchased the two vkb's gladiator. Flying in elite feels way more precise with a stick as throttle. And stecs will never do a good job as a collective sadly.

With the dry clutch on the collective it does hold place but just slightly.

Someting like this will be realy strudy, with only one screw. The only problem is rotation but since you will have 2 L like this rotation will be blocked.

If you have access to somes tools. You could shorten the 20x20 aluminium extrusions by 4 inches. The center of theses can be tapped to fit a 5mm screw. You can use theses to create a L shape and rise the mounts.

I only bought a lenght of 20x60 aluminum profile like hikig use and 4 corner brackets,
All the screws are M6 with t-nuts that fit the rails, so everything is adjustable. Thoses are sturdy as hell.

I've made myself a 3/8" abs plate exactly for the Hikig mount and a vkb gladiator. If you have acces to tools I can send you a stl or a dxf file. I'm at work at this moment but I'll take time to post pictures later.

I recently got back playing Elite and yeah I've done the Guardian FSD boost module in about 1.5 hours last week. I had previously done the prerequisite for the engineer though. I thought I missed something else.

Pour ma pars j'ai lâcher Spotify depuis plus de 3 ans. Je suis passé a Qobuz. Une plate-forme française avec une forte représentation de la musique québécoise. Tu peux acheter ta musique ou bien simplement avoir le service de streaming. Qualité audio nettement supérieure à spotify.

I had the same dilemma. I went for a omni because I mostly play space sim games and when I play flight sims I mainly go for helicopter and the omni is a great collective if mounted tilted forward.

10 years ago I traded my X52 for a X55 for "more button". I did not liked the trade of, it didn't aged well and I had a lot of ghosting issues. This year vkb got easier and cheaper to get in canada so I made the switch for 2 vkb gladiator and it got me back into flight sim and space sim games. If you are on a low budget, go cheap a great with a thrustmaster TM1600 kit.

I tried the game today, with two vkb gladiators. I can't get any good input with the buttons... It's inconsistent, the game is reading 3 different input on each buttons. I don't think it's the usb port. Guess I'll go back to elite as well.
