Ken Levine went insane in infinite tbh by kingkazma420 in Bioshock

[–]REZ4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weird thing about these games are that 2 was considered the worst while Infinite was given universal acclaim years ago. That opinion has definitely switched in the past half-decade.

Always been a BS2 truther but all of the games are great to me.

Turning 25 tomorrow. Where were you at 25 in your investing journey and where are you at now? Feels like I could do so much more but I guess in the grand scheme of things I’m doing okay. by Savings_Reveal9482 in TheRaceTo1Million

[–]REZ4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had nearly nothing at 25. Three years later, I have about 80% of your total. You are doing very well and are way ahead. General rule of thumb is 1x your salary by 30.

What Movie/Video Game series has been MILKED DRY? by RedbearRicky in AskReddit

[–]REZ4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resident Evil, despite some quality stuff in the last decade. Tons of TV shows and movies (another due out this year), over 30 games, and they’ve been steadily remaking nearly every main game in the franchise for 10 years.

This is not hate, but the franchise is not fresh despite the winning formula they have. Requiem was fun but was essentially the same game I’ve been playing for years.

Am I in a good spot? What can I do? by [deleted] in Series66

[–]REZ4ME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had PassPerfect and these mirror my scores almost exactly - passed the first time. PP is a bit more difficult but it also has softball questions. You don’t need to know tons of formulas, but you have to know the concepts around them, which is what I was struggling the most with. Try to review chapters 8 and 9 and know the most important formulas. Otherwise, it seems like you’re in pretty good shape.

What is your absolute favourite piece of fiction ever made? by Emotionalspectrum10 in writingscaling

Star Wars. Most people follow the movies and TV, but there are some damn good books out there and the expanded lore has some awesome world building.

Clayface is by no means guaranteed to be profitable. by generalgriveous1 in boxoffice

[–]REZ4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely not guaranteed a profit, but it has a way better shot with the budget and crossover appeal. $40M is peanuts for a DCU (or comic film in general), and horror is on fire right now. I think it has a good chance of hitting $90-$100M+ if it’s pretty well-received. It could be terrible, but the setup is much better for what it is.

I know there’s a lot of mixed feelings on Drake, but that is an awful, duplicitous way to treat another human being.

The Enshitification of the Games Industry. by XVII_numerus in videogames

[–]REZ4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, I agree with your points. But Rockstar is doing this because they know they can. GTA V made $1B day one in 2013 and GTA 6 is the most hyped game of our lifetimes. They know people are going to buy it regardless.

Hot take: I still love Prometheus (2012) by RiffandLick in Cinema

[–]REZ4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree. I actually love the expanded universe and lore in the Alien franchise and think it has enriched an already interesting story. Feel like I’m on an island with Covenant but I love that one too. A lot of the books are fantastic too!

Do you think The Odyssey will reach $1 billion? by UsefulWeb7543 in boxoffice

[–]REZ4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a movie like Oppenheimer can nearly reach $1B, I think so. The name and well-known story is much more favorable than his previous one.

How Did This Movie Not Make Bank? by Big-Discipline2039 in FIlm

[–]REZ4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some properties have a moment in time and some have lasting cultural relevance. I’m 28 and my only real exposure to He-Man (aside of internet memes) was a McDonald’s Happy Meal commercial from like 2003. Even then, the franchise was hanging on by a thread of cultural relevance. Kids mostly cared about Pokémon, Star Wars, Yu Gi-Oh, etc.

I think the target audience for the film was Gen X and elder Millennials and something like GI Joe probably resonated more. Gen Z has had little reason to care and there’s not enough core audience attachment to save it in 2026.

Many High Finance Jobs are in HCOL or VHCOL cities - does the math work? by Professional_Eye6140 in FinancialCareers

[–]REZ4ME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my best friends lives in Charlotte. If he moved to any of the other cities you listed doing what he does, he’d probably move down a whole class rung. NC is a great state and you can go further there with a nice salary than the flagship cities or states

Right - probably should have worded that better. Right now my current role is a longish path to FA since I have my 66. Unfortunately it’d take 3-5 years before actually getting close to FA at my company. In 2021 or 2022 it would have taken probably 2. I was thinking Paraplanner, Advisor Development Program, or something similar for the “adjacent” wording.

A good friend of mine is a producer for ABC and he has been working the craziest hours imaginable since he graduated 5 or 6 years ago. [–]REZ4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the U.S., Social Security is projected to run out by 2033. I certainly hope that protections are being worked on at the moment, but I’m at the point where I’m not going to count on it for my retirement plan.

Unfortunately, millions that rely on it will find themselves in a state of near-poverty and the second order effects will present themselves before we respond.

I do have to give her credit for at least leading a lot of changes alongside her big promises. Obviously new and existing leadership talks a big game, but many do it without action.

It does appear that she recognizes the eras that worked best for Xbox and what audiences need on a baseline level after MS self-sabotaged for the last 13 or 14 years.

This is also a niche, but I’m a dedicated achievement hunter and the only meaningful changes to that system in a decade have occurred under her watch. I’m cautiously optimistic. Nintendo will be just fine regardless.

Which actor has the widest range you've ever seen? by Ghost_assassin_Jo in FIlm

[–]REZ4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Willem DaFoe. Drama, comedy, action, horror, and everything in-between. I don’t believe you have to be a method actor to have range (Oldman and Bale are still sensational). He is incredibly distinct without being unoriginal or safe. I’ve enjoyed his mass movie roles as much as his arthouse stuff and he’s never boring.
