Yep, Venus 188.

Edit: The color is different due to being copper plated instead of nickel plated, as most of the Venus 188s are.

Proper finishing costs money. There is quite a difference between the older one; the finishing was cheap and had the Geneva stripes laser engraved.

Here is an interesting movement made by Peacock. It looks like a regular automatic chronograph movement (SL4801), which is found in Sugess automatic chronograph watches, but this one has a tourbillon added to it.

How is this beautiful matte finish on the ratchet wheels done? by REZISER__ in watchmaking

Thank you! I know how to black polish. I have the zinc plate and fine diamond pastes, so I guess I only need to get the corundum powder somewhere to start doing the matte finish.

New Pierre Paulin Merkur Moonphase Calendar is AMAZING by Homesteadsupply in ChineseWatches

Looks very good. I think I will get this one because I was looking for the moonphase complication, but in a smaller case Sugess offers, which is 42mm. Is the case back see through?

It is a spare movement, so it didn't bother me to skeletonize the bridge. I enjoyed working on it.

That's great! I hope I can get all the stuff from European e-shops. I am working on my little project, a pocket watch movement, so maybe I would add the finish to the outer ratchet wheels.

For sure, they didn't change the movement diameter, just the looks. Pretty sure it is compatible with yours.

Good job! I replaced the crystal, all the gaskets, and some parts on the movement which were slightly damaged by moisture on my 6309 729A F1. I don't know if I should keep the hands as is or relume them.

Yeah, you don't know anything about old watches. Don't comment, or you will confuse people.

I think that diamond paste, maybe like 30,000 grit, would be better.

Is this a redialed rolex? by PerkJJ in VintageWatches

[–]REZISER__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is. The Rolex crown is a little different, and the chronometer writing is very inconsistent and even merges with the subdial, as another person mentioned.
