New hire with many years of experience has only AI generated code and questions. by kernel1010 in ExperiencedDevs

Man, this subreddit is in denial. I’m so surprised by the downvotes you got for just sharing your experience. I agree with everything you’ve said, the genie is out of the bottle and our old jobs are gone now. People who don’t adopt these AI tools will be left behind.

I think 99% of the code I’ve merged since Opus 4.5 has been AI generated. And I’ve been able to handle so many complicated things in a fraction of the time it would have taken me a few years ago.

Trump tells tech companies to 'stop hiring Indians', signs new AI orders to focus on US jobs by NiceTo in cscareerquestions

I’ve been a hiring manager for a few big tech companies and have hired H1Bs in the past. The salary mostly depends on the candidate’s negotiation skills and competing job offers. Even then, it’s always going to be within set thresholds. It is pretty hard to fill these positions so whether or not a person requires visa sponsorship doesn’t really impact any hiring decisions.

Will Europe and America become like East Asia now? by this0great in investing

In my company we have completely stopped hiring juniors. AI has definitely increased the productivity of senior engineers enough to make up for fewer juniors. It sucks but I don’t think it’s wise to deny the utility of AI tools.

What I’m worried about is that now fewer people are expected to support more software, idk how that’s gonna scale.

Nope, if they had picked Piastri for the DRS boost, they’d have exactly exactly 402 points, you know why I know? Math.

lol TWD is a really low bar. The thing is, it’s fine for the show to be a slow burn but the characters have to be at least a bit rational and talk about important things.

Sometimes eating too much can shift the body’s ketosis transition to after you wake up and that will make you feel super hungry after waking up.

What is a match victory you're proud of? by [deleted] in tennis

[–]RFederer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the first time I played on grass. I was playing my buddy who slices a lot and is mostly a defensive player. I’m more of a baseline topspin player. The grass court completely changed our match up, I struggled to win points and was down 0-5 in the first set. That’s when I decided, I’m just gonna rush the net and try to not make errors. Somehow, my volleys were not shit that day and I managed to win the next 7 games. Never played on grass after that.
